Montpellier vs Nice
Nice solidified their position in the Champions League qualification places last time out with an impressive 1-0 win over league leaders PSG. An 88th minute winner shocked the French giants and allowed Nice to climb above rivals Marseille in the hunt for automatic qualification to Europe’s elite competition. The victory marked a fourth consecutive clean sheet in all competitions, with Nice boasting the best defensive record in Ligue 1. The visitors have also won the second most points on the road this season, making them strong favourites in the football predictions against a Montpellier side that have lost four of their last five league games.

Villarreal vs Celta Vigo
Despite Villarreal sitting six points off the top four in La Liga, Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are the only teams to pick up more points in the last 10 games. The hosts have built their strong form on defensive resilience; Unai Emery’s side have the third best defensive record in the league. Estadio de la Ceramica has been somewhat of a fortress this season, and Villarreal will welcome Celta Vigo to a stadium they have not lost at since a 3-1 defeat to Barcelona in November. They will need to put a halt to the goalscoring exploits of Iago Aspas, but the visitors have not won in five away games and will be underdogs in our football predictions.

Verona vs Napoli
A brilliant run of form has seen Verona climb to ninth in Serie A, but they face a tough task as they host a title-chasing Napoli this weekend. Although a slight dip in form has seen Gli Azzurri fall behind the Milan clubs, Luciano Spalletti’s side have only lost once on the road this season. If any team is capable of stopping the free-scoring Verona attack, it is the league’s strongest defence. In the last 10 meetings between these sides, Napoli have been victorious on seven occasions, with Verona picking up three points just once. Another defeat would see the visitors fall even further behind the front-runners, but our football prediction is for Napoli to get back to winning ways.

Leverkusen vs FC Koln
Leverkusen managed to avoid defeat at the Allianz in their last outing, extending their run to just one defeat in their last eight league games. The hosts have been in fine form in front of goal, but an injury to Patrik Schick has transferred the goalscoring responsibility to 22-year-old Moussa Diaby. The Frenchman has netted seven in his last six games, and with the creative capacity of the talented Florian Wirtz operating in a free role, Leverkusen still have plenty of firepower in their attack. Koln’s form is largely indifferent, and given the visitors have only picked up 12 of their 36 points on the road, Leverkusen will go into this fixture as favourites in our football predictions.
