Brentford vs Arsenal
Arsenal have had an impressive start to the Premier League campaign and our football prediction is that they bounce back from defeat against Manchester United with a win in London. Brentford will prove stiff opposition – they have only lost once this season – but Arsenal are a step above in terms of quality. Mikel Arteta has worked wonders with this squad in preseason, with their new additions elevating the Gunners to a new level.
Even in their one defeat thus far against United, Arsenal dominated long stretches of the game and were unlucky not to go ahead early on. Confidence is flowing in North London and they will be expected to pick up another three points at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Arsenal win – 1.80
Monza vs Juventus
It was always going to be a difficult ask for Monza to survive back in the top-flight and they already look favourites for relegation. Things don’t get any easier as they prepare to host Juventus. The Old Lady hasn’t exactly had the best start to the season, but they have gone unbeaten in their opening six matches. Their defensive record is bettered only by Atalanta, which doesn’t bode well for Monza given their lack of attacking prowess.
No team has found the net fewer times than the hosts and they are the only side yet to pick up a point on home soil. Our football prediction is that Juventus get back to winning ways – and that they do so relatively comfortably.

Marseille vs Rennes
Marseille have had a near perfect start to the Ligue 1 campaign, winning six of their first seven games to ensure they are within striking distance of the champions PSG. They face a big challenge this weekend as they prepare to welcome Stade Rennes, with the visitors currently occupying sixth place. However, Rennes haven’t been the best on the road, and our football prediction is that those away struggles continue.
Rennes sit 15th in the away form table – only three teams have picked up fewer points and only two teams have scored less goals away from home. Whilst they are a force to be reckoned with at Roazhon Park, they should struggle this weekend against Marseille.
Marseille win – 2.05
Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
Real Madrid have begun their title defence in fine fashion, winning all five of their fixtures thus far. But a trip to the Metropolitano has often caused them problems in the past – Los Blancos have won just twice in their last 13 visits to face their rivals. Three of the last five meetings at Atletico have ended all square, and although Real have had a far superior start to the campaign, we can see them being held to a draw by Diego Simeone’s side.
It looks like the visitors will be without star man Karim Benzema, severely hampering the balance of their attack. It will be a close affair, but our football prediction is that Atletico will be happy to sit back and play for a point.
