Hertha Berlin vs Leverkusen
Leverkusen’s start to the campaign has been nothing short of dreadful, but our football prediction is that they start to turn things around this weekend. They impressed in a 3-0 win against Mainz and were unlucky to lose 3-2 against league leaders Freiburg, in a game which they could have picked up all three points had they taken their chances.
Only one team has scored fewer goals than this weekend’s opponent Hertha Berlin, with the visitors sure to fancy their chances of outscoring the side that sits just one point above them. Leverkusen have managed to keep hold of the majority of their key players and it’s only a matter of time before they start climbing the Bundesliga.
Leverkusen win – 1.95
Bournemouth vs Brighton
Brighton have had an incredible start to the season – they currently occupy fourth spot having won four of their opening six. Only Wolves have conceded fewer than Graham Potter’s side, who appear to be improving every week. Our football prediction is that their campaign could derail should they be subject to injury problems, but we could still see the Seagulls challenging for European football.
Bournemouth completed a miraculous second half comeback against Nottingham Forest last time out, picking up their second win of the season. However, we can see them being completely outclassed by this travelling Brighton side. There looks like only one possible winner in this battle on the south coast.
Brighton win – 1.83
AC Ajaccio vs Nice
Nice have had a tough start to the season, with the last three fixtures coming against Marseille, Lille and Monaco. Despite losing two of those games, the 2-1 win away at Lille gives us reason to believe this will still be a squad competing for European football come the end of the campaign. This Sunday’s fixture against Ajaccio is the perfect game to build some momentum, and our football prediction is that they come away with a comfortable victory.
Ajaccio sit bottom of the league having claimed just one point in six games. They have scored the fewest goals in the league and have conceded in five out of six matches. It was always going to be a tough ask to stay up in their first season back in Ligue 1, but they look destined for relegation already.
Nice win – 2.45
Sassuolo vs Udinese
Not many would have predicted how well Udinese would start their Serie A campaign. They have lost just once in their opening five – an opening day defeat to champions AC Milan – and currently occupy fourth spot on goal difference. They hammered the previous league leaders Roma 4-0 in their last outing and will be looking to continue their form on the road against mid-table Sassuolo.
The hosts come into this tie off the back of three consecutive draws and one win in their first five games. Only two teams have found the net less often than Sassuolo, and our football prediction is that they lose on home soil.
