Brentford vs Arsenal

Brentford kick off their Premier League debut season by hosting Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on the opening day of the season at the Brentford Community Stadium. Their return to the top-flight comes some 74 years after they were relegated from the First Division in 1947 and the Bees will be buzzing to get off the mark early.

Arsenal will be equally motivated to get off to a good start as they struggled to their second 8th place finish in a row last season. Arteta looked to bolster his defence with the €60 million signing of central defender Ben White from Brighton, who will need to be at the top of his game to stop the talented Ivan Toney from getting on the scoresheet.

Brentford will have the bit between their teeth, and with the prolific Englishman Toney leading the line, they will fancy they have every chance of causing an upset.

Draw @ 3.80

Lille vs Nice

The defending Champions kicked off their campaign with a 3-3 draw away to Metz with veteran Burak Yilmaz rescuing a point in the dying seconds. Despite his ripe old age of 36, he still has plenty to offer, and aided by the former Jupiler Pro League star, Jonathan David, Lille will be hoping these two can keep their chances of retaining the Ligue 1 title alive. Although Messi, Neymar and Mbappe might have other ideas.

Nice have some exciting talent with the likes of Justin Kluivert and Amine Gouiri in attack, whilst the impressive youngster Jean-Clair Todibo is partnered by veteran Brazilian Dante in defence. They will prove a tough challenge, but the Champions should have enough quality to pick up their first win of the season.

Lille win to nil @ 3.20

Mainz vs RB Leipzig

Questions were asked about how RB Leipzig would cope after losing their manager Julian Nagelsmann to last season’s biggest rivals Bayern Munich and selling their two best centre halves in Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate. But the appointment of promising coach Jesse Marsch is a positive one for the club and they have taken steps to fill the holes in the defence with the purchases of talented youngsters Josko Gvardiol and Mohamed Simakan from Dinamo Zagreb and Strasbourg.

Despite the big money sales of their defenders, Leipzig have one of the strongest squads in the league going forward. With Dani Olmo, Christopher Nkunku, Marcel Sabitzer and Dominik Szoboszlai all impressing last season, new manager Marsch has plenty of options…

We expect them to hit the ground running and have far too much quality for Bo Svensson’s Mainz side to cope with.

RB Leipzig win @ 1.38
