Denmark vs Croatia
This is one of the most evenly matched UEFA Nations League fixtures of the weekend on paper, but Denmark will have a slight advantage in Copenhagen. The hosts have won 10 of their last 12 games on home soil, whilst the visitors have only won four of their previous 14 games outside of Croatia. The Danes were hugely impressive in their opening win against France, with bundles of technical quality across their squad. It will be a tricky match-up for both teams, but we think Denmark will take all three points.

Ireland vs Scotland
Both of these sides will fancy their chances of qualifying from this group and the two meetings could prove pivotal in deciding which nation challenges at the top. Scotland will still be suffering after defeat to Ukraine left them without the chance to fight for a spot at this year’s World Cup. However, there’s some real spirit in Steve Clarke’s side and we expect them to bounce back in their upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. Ireland have improved in the last year or so, but they still don’t have the quality to match a Scotland team with genuine gamechangers sprinkled throughout their line-up.

Wales vs Belgium
Belgium’s opening UEFA Nations League fixture saw them comfortably beaten by an impressive Dutch side, but it’s unlikely Roberto Martinez’s men will suffer such a heavy loss again this campaign given how strong they have been over the years. Wales have typically given the Red Devils a tough game and they will still be riding high after qualifying for Qatar, but Belgium should have enough to take all three points in Cardiff. Despite drawing 1-1 on their last visit to the Welsh capital, they had enough possession and chances to win the game twice over. They will be favourites to pick up only a second win in seven meetings with the Dragons.

Switzerland vs Portugal
These two sides will meet again this weekend in their fourth UEFA Nations League fixture. Portugal ran away 4-0 victors in the reverse meeting in Lisbon, with Cristiano Ronaldo netting twice and extending his own international goalscoring record. The Swiss have struggled to find their feet in recent months, and although they will likely put up a greater fight on home soil, we can’t see the outcome of the match being any different. The visitors have an abundance of world class talent and influential players on the bench – the Portuguese will be favourites and it wouldn’t exactly be shocking to see Ronaldo on the scoresheet again.
