KV Mechelen vs KVC Westerlo
We’re kicking things off on Friday night where the in-form Mechelen host Westerlo. Mechelen have turned a corner in 2024 and are unbeaten in eight games, winning six.
This impressive run includes draws against Anderlecht and Genk, as well as victories over Gent and Antwerp. In the last 15 games, only the league’s top two, Anderlecht and Union, have collected more points than Mechelen.
In contrast, Westerlo’s form has been patchy and they arrive at Mechelen having lost back-to-back matches against St. Truiden and Charleroi.
They have won just twice in 15 away games in all competitions this season, a record that will likely not improve against a fully-firing KV Mechelen.

RWDM vs Anderlecht
Our second pick is for the game taking place in Brussels. RWDM’s form has taken a turn at the worst possible time. Eight defeats in their last 10 Jupiler Pro League matches have seen them drop to 14th, five points adrift of safety.
With 60 goals conceded, they have the worst defensive record in the division, and only Eupen have accumulated fewer points on home soil.
The visitors, Anderlecht, are doing everything in their power to keep pace with Union at the summit of the division. They have won five consecutive matches, including a 2-1 statement win away against Club Brugge.
No team has won more points on conceded fewer goals than Anderlecht in the last 10 matches, with Club Brugge the only side to score more. They are brimming with confidence and should make it six wins in a row this weekend.
Anderlecht to win – 1.54
Union Saint-Gilloise vs Gent
Anderlecht’s form has been flawless but Union are matching them blow for blow. The Jupiler Pro League leaders have retained their eight-point gap at the top with five wins in their previous six league games.
They are also fighting on two other fronts. Union’s late goal against Club Brugge completed their unlikely comeback and booked them a spot in the Belgian Cup final, and they will also go toe-to-toe with Fenerbahce in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League.
Things aren’t so positive in Gent. Just one win in their last eight league games has seen Gent slip out of the top six on goal difference. A win this weekend is crucial if they want to take back their spot in the Championship playoff group.
However, based on Gent’s form and Union’s home superiority, we can’t see the visitors causing an upset at Stade Joseph Marien.
