Jupiler Pro League: Championship Play-off Preview

With just nine games remaining in the Jupiler Pro League regular season, frontrunners Union Saint-Gilloise have pulled eight points clear after second-place Anderlecht drew on matchday 21. We’ve previewed this weekend’s fixtures, picking out some potential winners based on the latest football odds.

Whether you choose to play with Bet777.be or any other online sportsbook, you can enjoy a range of sports betting markets on all the biggest Jupiler Pro League games.

Charleroi vs Club Brugge

Club Brugge have turned a corner after their poor start to the season and are now unbeaten in 13 matches across all competitions. They have won 10 of these, with draws coming in the Bruges derby, away against KV Mechelen, and in a big clash against league leaders Union. The visitors were comfortable 3-0 victors last weekend against Westerlo and will come into this tie brimming with confidence as they look to close the gap on the top of the league.

Charleroi are sat in 12th and battling to avoid the relegation zone. What’s more, the recent head-to-head record doesn’t make for good reading for the hosts. They have won just twice in their last 10 meetings with Club Brugge, losing five and drawing three.

Club Brugge to win – 1.52

Gent vs Westerlo

After a recent dip in form has seen Gent bail out of the Cup against Club Brugge and lose 2-1 at home against KV Mechelen in the league, it’s tough to pick a winner in this one. However, there are usually plenty of goals when Gent are playing, especially on home soil. Only two teams in the division have scored more goals on home soil and they have also conceded the most in the top five.

When you also factor in the away side, this one is surely going to be an end-to-end affair. There have been 68 goals in Westerlo’s 21 matches this campaign. This includes three or more goals in seven of their previous eight matches and four or more in four of these. Both teams’ matches are averaging three goals per game in the last five outings.

Over 3.5 goals – 2.28

Eupen vs Antwerp

Eupen look resigned to a spot in the postseason relegation playoffs. They have not tasted victory in their previous eight Jupiler Pro League outings, with this run consisting of six defeats and two draws. They come into this one with confidence at an all-time low after losing four in a row. The last time they won a point was December 2nd.

Antwerp have been climbing the table after suffering just one defeat in their last nine league games. However, they have not been as defensively strong as we have come to expect from them. They have conceded in each of their last five league games. When you also consider that Eupen have scored in four successive home games, we think Antwerp will win, but could have to score a couple to claim all three points.

Antwerp to win and both teams to score – 2.76
