KV Mechelen vs Club Brugge
Club Brugge will look to continue their surge up the Jupiler Pro League rankings this weekend with a trip to Mechelen. The Belgian giants have lost just once in their last five and are showing signs of getting back to their best following back-to-back wins. They were comfortable 2-0 winners against St. Liege last time out, with Igor Thiago continuing his fine form, netting a third goal in two matches.
Mechelen sit down in 10th with 18 points, seven points adrift of the top six and eight points above the bottom of the table. Despite being in relatively solid form, the hosts have just one home win in their last five outings at AFAS-Stadion Achter de Kazerne. They have failed to score in three of their last four home matches and will do well to contain a resurgent Club Brugge.

Anderlecht vs Standard Liege
Anderlecht’s pursuit of league leaders Union continued last weekend with a 3-1 win against Westerlo, keeping them four points off the top. They have now won four of their previous five Jupiler Pro League outings and look set to push St. Gilloise all the way. The form of Danish forwards Kasper Dolberg and Anders Dreyer has been particularly impressive. The pair have scored 19 goals between them and both feature in the Jupiler Pro League’s top five scorers.
For St. Liege, things could go from bad to worse this weekend. They have lost three successive away matches in the league, 3-1 at Gent, 6-0 at Antwerp, and 2-0 at Club Brugge. While these are all tricky fixtures, they have consistently come unstuck against the better sides this campaign, and we can’t see that changing when they take on the high-flying Anderlecht.
Anderlecht to win – 1.50
Charleroi vs Royale Union Saint-Gilloise
Union Saint-Gilloise just keep ticking along. Every time they are faced with adversity, they overcome it and come back stronger. They were 2-1 winners against Cercle Brugge last time out, extending their run to nine victories in their last 10 league matches. It is difficult to see how they can be stopped, and Charleroi face an uphill battle on matchday 17.
Although they have lost just once at home in eight matches, their only win against a big side was a 3-2 victory over Antwerp. The other three wins came against Kortrijk, RWDM, and Westerlo, with the outstanding four games all ending in draws.
