Goals were once again the common theme on matchday 13, with 32 goals scored across 9 games, an average of 3.5 goals per game. In 5 out 9 games, over 1.5 goals had been scored by half-time, so keep an eye out for live betting odds on number of first half goals at Bet777.be.

Leuven vs Oostende

Leuven seem to have turned a corner after their poor start to the campaign and have not lost in their last 5 league games, including fixtures against Club Brugge, St. Liege and Anderlecht. The upturn in form of Guinean striker Sory Kaba has been crucial for the home side and 4 goals in his last 3 league games has helped Leuven move 5 points clear of the relegation places.

Oostende suffered a disappointing 4-2 defeat to Mechelen last time out, but star man Makhtar Gueye was in the goals once again. Neither of these teams are particularly solid defensively, so this fixture promises goals. We wouldn’t be surprised to see both in-form strikers on the scoresheet and the points shared.

Draw @ 4.15

Eupen vs Waregem

Waregem were hammered once again in their last fixture, meaning they have now conceded 4 or more goals on 4 occasions already this season – nearly a third of their games. They might have goals in Jelle Vossen and Zinho Gano, but with 32 goals conceded, they have let in 5 more than the 2nd worst defensive unit in the league.

Eupen have been on the end of 3 defeats in a row as they continue to struggle with inconsistency. Despite their poor form, they have tended to be fairly resolute at the back, with Smail Prevljak and Julien Ngoy possessing real quality at the other end of the pitch. We think they will put an end to their losing streak.

Eupen win @ 1.66

Kortrijk vs Beerschot VA

Beerschot finally picked up their first win of the season against Seraing on matchday 13 of the Jupiler Pro League calendar. They will be hoping the fully deserved 3-0 victory can kickstart their season as they look to gain ground on relegation rivals Cercle Brugge and Seraing.

Although the away side impressed last time out, Kortrijk have been steadily strong this season and have lost just once in their last 6. Only 2 teams have conceded fewer goals with the home side having kept 5 clean sheets already thus far. They picked up a good point on the road against St. Liege in their last fixture and the likes of Pape Habib Gueye and Faiz Selemanie will be looking to get back amongst the goals against a leaky Beerschot defence.

Kortrijk win @ 1.68

KV Mechelen vs St. Truiden

Mechelen’s rise to the top continued at the weekend as the put 4 past Oostende and made it 5 wins from their last 6 league games. Not only were Nikola Storm and Hugo Cuypers influential in creative roles, Swede Kerim Mrabti was in the goals once again. Mechelen’s front four are a real problem for any opposition, and given that no team has picked up more points at home, we expect them to continue their impressive run.

St. Truiden were dealt defeat by the Champions in their last game as they remain hovering above the bottom 3. They are still having issues in front of goal and the only two teams to score fewer this season are those in the relegation places. We don’t think they will cause Mechelen too many problems.

KV Mechelen win @ 1.83

Saint Gilloise vs Charleroi

This is an exciting match-up between two in-form sides with strikers that can’t stop scoring. Shamar Nicholson made it 8 for the season and 3 in his last 3 as Charleroi beat Eupen 3-0 at the weekend. Both teams have also exemplary defensive records and only the league leaders Saint Gilloise have conceded fewer than the visitors.

The Saint Gilloise train kept rolling with a 2-0 win over Gent, with the usual suspects playing a major role in the victory. It was a familiar sight as striker partners Deniz Undav and Dante Vanzeir combined once again to give their side the lead against a resurgent Gent. Although Charleroi have impressed, we just can’t see anyone stopping St. Gilloise.

Saint Gilloise win @ 1.60

Club Brugge vs Standard Liege

A draw against Kortrijk saw Liege slip to 12th in the league and took their tally to 6 without a win. Their lack of goals is a major concern and they risk missing out on a spot in the top 8 if they fail to resolve the issue.

Club Brugge kept pace with Saint Gilloise with a 2-1 win over Sint Truiden thanks to a Bas Dost brace, as the experienced Dutch striker looks to stake his claim to a starting spot in the Champions’ forward line. Although the home side have only won 1 of the last 5 league meetings between these two, the disparity in performances this season have been so great that we expect a Club Brugge win.

Club Brugge win @ 1.32

Seraing vs Gent

Things went from bad to worse for Seraing as they were beaten comfortably by bottom of the table Beerschot, making it 6 defeats in their last 7. They do have serious attacking threat in Youssef Maziz and Georges Mikautadze, but their defence is not covering itself in glory – they have conceded 3 or more in 6 out of 13 games this campaign.

Gent faced a stumbling block in St. Gilloise last time out, but they should be too strong for this Seraing team. They have been compact defensively and the partnership between Tarik Tissoudali and Laurent Depoitre has really blossomed.

Gent win @ 1.55

Antwerp vs Anderlecht

Anderlecht have not been at their best this season and have found themselves struggling to turn 1 point into 3. Although they have not lost in their last 8 league games, 5 of those fixtures have ended in draws. It is of course important to avoid defeat, but Kompany will have to start winning games sooner rather than later if they are to genuinely challenge for the title.

You could argue that Antwerp have not been at their best either, but they have found a way to win in tight games, which has left them within striking distance of the front-runners. Michael Frey bagged his 13th of the season in as many games last time out as Antwerp beat Cercle Brugge 1-0. Frey and his opposing centre-forward Joshua Zirkzee are both in excellent form, but we think it is the former that will come out on top.

Antwerp win @ 3.25

Genk vs Cercle Brugge

Genk managed to end their 3 match losing streak in the league with a dominant 6-2 win over Waregem. Paul Onuachu was back in the goals and Japanese winger Junya Ito played a key role, scoring the opener and creating two more. Genk are in a similar situation to Anderlecht. If they don’t start winning with consistency soon, the front three will be out of sight.

Cercle Brugge’s 1-0 loss to Antwerp made it 5 defeats in 6. They currently sit in 17th place, 3 points off of safety, and it’s difficult to see when any change in fortune might come from. Aside from Alejandro Millan, who has now not scored in 4, Brugge are lacking in attacking threat and only Beerschot have netted fewer times. This is going to be an uphill battle on the road.

Genk win @ 1.55
