Eupen vs Seraing

On the face of it, this looks like an early relegation clash, but don’t be fooled by Eupen’s position in the league. They have faced Club Brugge, Genk and Antwerp in consecutive matches, managing to pick up all three points against the champions. So whilst their position looks ominous, they have every chance of changing their fortunes with an easier run of fixtures.

We expect the hosts to get back to winning ways this weekend, as they prepare to welcome Seraing to Kehrwegstadion. The visitors are the only team yet to pick up a point in the Jupiler Pro League 2022 season, and have managed to find the net just once in their opening four games. They struggled last season, and given their two top goalscorers have returned to their parent club, we expect them to be in real trouble again this year.

Eupen win – 1.86

Genk vs Cercle Brugge

After a rather disappointing last campaign, Genk have been one of the most promising teams at the beginning of the Jupiler Pro League 2022 season. After a narrow defeat to Club Brugge on the opening day, they have since picked up nine points from nine, scoring 11 goals in the process. They are the only team to have hit double figures for goals scored, and they are still waiting for the full return of prolific forwards Paul Onuachu and Theo Bongonda.

We don’t expect the hosts to have too much difficulty outscoring a Cercle Brugge team that have failed to find the net in three of their first four games. The visitors have beaten Genk at the Cegeka Arena just once in the last 20 years, with the home side having won 12 of the 17 meetings.

Genk win – 1.52

St. Liege vs Leuven

We think this Jupiler Pro League 2022 fixture promises to be a lot closer than the odds suggest – St. Liege have been on a downwards slope for a few years and Leuven ended last season in a strong position. The visitors have also made some intelligent signings during the summer window, including the acquisition of Beerschot VA chief creator Raphael Holzhauser. It remains to be seen whether 21-year-old Nachon Nsingi will be able to effectively lead the line this campaign, but he’ll certainly have a greater chance with Holzhauser in a supporting role.

The hosts will be difficult to beat in Liege – they have picked up four points from six on home soil – but Leuven have showed some real early positives. It will be a tight affair, one that we could see ending in a score draw.

Draw – 3.65
