Hertha Berlin vs Dortmund
If it weren’t for a monumental collapse in their last outing, Dortmund would be joint leaders at the top of the Bundesliga. In five minutes of madness, they managed to go from a comfortable 2-0 lead to losing 3-2 at home against Werder Bremen. Whilst this doesn’t bode particularly well for them, we fully expect them to bounce back this weekend against 16th place Hertha Berlin.
The hosts have picked up just one point from their first three games and our football prediction is that they will be battling relegation come the end of the season. They will have to ride their luck if they are to claim anything from a strong visiting Dortmund side.
Dortmund win – 1.74
Nice vs Marseille
Nice have started the season in truly abysmal fashion, and things don’t get any easier as they prepare to face second place Marseille. To make matters worse, two key players in Mario Lemina and Jean-Clair Todibo will miss the huge game through suspension, leaving them significantly weakened against an impressive Marseille.
The visitors were back to winning ways last time out, and although they haven’t been rock-solid defensively, they have shown plenty going forward. Our football prediction is that Marseille will be the best of the rest outside of PSG this season, and they should win on the road against a struggling Nice outfit.
Marseille win – 2.70
Getafe vs Villarreal
Villarreal have started as they mean to go on in this 2022/23 campaign. They have kept two clean sheets in their opening two games, including a classy 2-0 victory away to Atletico Madrid. Unai Emery is really managing to get the best out of his squad, and our football prediction is that Villarreal will be challenging for Champions League this season.
Their opponents Getafe sit bottom of the league as one of only two teams yet to pick up a point. They have conceded three times in each of their two games, and they haven’t look too promising in attack either. They will be no match for the in-form Yellow Submarine.
Villarreal win – 2.10
Fiorentina vs Napoli
Napoli have had a scintillating start to the campaign, and they are slight favourites to continue that form in Florence. Fiorentina have typically proven a stiff challenge, but they needed a 95th minute winner to beat newly promoted Cremonese and were unable to beat 10-men Empoli. Our football prediction is that the hosts will struggle this season – they have failed to replace the goals of Dusan Vlahovic and that could prove costly.
Napoli will be hoping to keep pace in the race for the title this season, and if they can manage to keep their squad fit, we see no reason why they cannot push the Milan clubs all the way. They shouldn’t have too many difficulties picking up the points on the road.
