Brentford vs Aston Villa
Aston Villa have hit form at the perfect time and are making a shock run at Europe. Seven wins in eight have seen them climb to within six points of the top four with seven matches left to play. They face a tricky trip to West London this weekend but will be full of confidence after five consecutive victories and four clean sheets in the process.
A tough run of fixtures has left Brentford without a win in five and three successive defeats. They are slipping toward mid-table mediocrity, and despite the Bees heading into the tie as favourites, we’re backing the visitors in our football predictions.
Aston Villa to win – 2.75
Dortmund vs Frankfurt
Next up in our football predictions is Dortmund, who remain hot on the heels of champions Bayern Munich. Dortmund squandered a chance to go top with a 3-3 draw with Stuttgart, but we’re backing them to get back to winning ways at home this weekend.
Frankfurt have won just once in their previous 11 matches and are yet to win away from home in 2023. They have lost five of their last six on the road and things don’t get any easier as they prepare to travel to Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund to win – 1.61
AC Milan vs Lecce
AC Milan are two points clear of neighbours Inter in fourth place and will be hoping to take another step toward Champions League football this weekend. They are unbeaten in six (4 wins, 2 draws) at San Siro, keeping five clean sheets along the way. These are good odds for Milan to come out on top against a Lecce side that have won six of their last seven.
You could even go one step further and add a Milan clean sheet to your bet slip. Lecce have failed to find the net in five of their last seven away matches and only two teams have scored fewer on the road in Serie A.
AC Milan to win – 1.49
Lyon vs Marseille
We’re finishing our football predictions in France where Lyon host Marseille. Lyon remain five points shy of European football but are unbeaten in seven ahead of this weekend’s game. Marseille also find themselves unbeaten in six and travel to Lyon having won eight of their nine away matches in 2023.
Lyon have been in fine form this year and a return to fitness for Alexandre Lacazette has boosted their chances of a strong finish. This is a tough match to pick a winner from and we think they might share the spoils.
