World Cup 2022: Quarter-Final Betting Tips & Score Predictions

Croatia vs Brazil

Brazil sparked into life in their 4-1 drubbing of South Korea. We saw the creativity, flair and pure class that we have come to associate with the South American nation. They are only going to improve as the World Cup 2022 progresses, and Croatia are the unfortunate team that stand in their way of a place in the semi-final.

Croatia needed penalties to see them past an enthusiastic Japan, but they failed to impress in 120 minutes. Luka Modric had little to no impact on the game – a surprise to perhaps everyone watching – and they failed to exhibit any real chance creation in the final third. We expect them to come unstuck against a free-flowing Brazil side that are brimming with confidence.

Brazil to win – 1.39

Score prediction: 0-2

Netherlands vs Argentina

Many are expecting Argentina to cruise into the next round, but we’re not so sure it’s as simple as that. Yes, they have Lionel Messi, but they have also failed to control and dominate games. The 2-1 win over Australia in the round of 16 was anything but comfortable, surviving a late scare to book a spot in the quarter-final.

The Netherlands are one of the standout performers of World Cup 2022 and were good value for their 3-1 win over USA last time out. They have a fast and agile back three, perfect for defending Argentina’s lively attack, and they also have some danger men of their own at the opposite end of the pitch. Cody Gakpo’s stock has risen significantly thanks to three goals in four games, and partnered with Memphis Depay, they could cause Argentina all kinds of problems. We’re going for a score draw.

Draw – 3.14

Score prediction: 1-1

Morocco vs Portugal

Morocco put on a display of heroic defending in their round of 16 tie against Spain, seeing them off for 120 minutes before holding their nerve for spot kicks. They face a tricky task in the quarter-final where they come up against a Portugal side that ran riot in a 6-1 win over Switzerland.

Dropping Cristiano Ronaldo seems to have elevated the Portuguese, with his replacement Goncalo Ramos helping himself to a hat-trick, making him almost irreplaceable. Given what we have seen from Morocco defensively, this will likely be another tight game. However, Portugal boast more of an attacking edge than Spain, and they should have some joy in wide areas.

Portugal to win – 1.67

Score prediction: 1-2

England vs France

England may have kept three consecutive clean sheets ahead of this tie, but they are yet to face a real test. That will all change on Saturday when they come up against champions France and star man Kylian Mbappe. He has set World Cup 2022 alight, as we probably expected, and will once again be the difference on the biggest stage.

England will likely cause the French some problems of their own, but they are far from the finished article at the back. Harry Maguire looked shaky against Senegal and England were lucky not to go one or two goals down. If it were the French forwards on the end of those chances, it would have been game over.

France to win – 2.41

Score prediction: 1-2
