Women’s Euro 2025 Final – England vs Spain Preview

England and Spain meet for the third time in 2025, only on this occasion it is with the European Championship trophy on the line.

The Women’s Euro 2025 final is a repeat of the 2023 Women’s World Cup final, which Spain won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Olga Carmona.

So revenge will be on the minds of the England players, who won their maiden Euros trophy three years ago with a dramatic extra-time win over Germany at Wembley.

What a final we have in store, and below is a full sports betting preview for England vs Spain, complete with tips and odds for your football bets online.

England vs Spain Preview

England certainly had lady luck on their side to reach this point after finishing the group stage with two dominant wins (4-0 and 6-1).

The Lionesses came from 2-0 down to 2-2 against Sweden in dramatic fashion, taking the game to a penalty shootout in which they eventually prevailed.

Then in the semi-finals, England were seconds away from being knocked out by Italy, until Michelle Agyemang appeared off the bench and scored a stoppage-time equaliser. Chloe Kelly then netted the winner deep into extra-time after initially missing her penalty kick.

Spain beat host nation Switzerland 2-0 in the quarter-finals, though also required extra-time in the semis to get the better of Germany, with Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmati scoring the goal that sealed a priceless 1-0 victory.

So both sets of players will be fairly tired after their knockout stage exploits, with England’s extra day of rest potentially a huge positive for the defending champions.

The Lionesses beat Spain 1-0 on home soil back in February, though the return Nations League fixture in early June saw La Roja claim a 2-1 victory, with Claudia Pina at the double.

Pina, Bonmati and Alexia Putellas are three players England have to try and nullify if they wish to stand any chance of winning back-to-back Euros.

England vs Spain Betting Tips

Esther Gonzalez to score anytime @ 2.58

Gonzalez is the top scorer at Euro 2025 with four goals, and she is always a threat in the final third. England’s defence has looked shaky at the best of times, so we can see her adding to the goal tally in Basel.

Alessia Russo to score anytime @ 4.33

Russo has been more prolific in terms of assists at Euro 2025, registering three of them. However, the Arsenal striker is still a goalscorer by trade, one built for the biggest of moments.

Spain to score in both halves – Yes @ 2.70

As previously mentioned, England’s defence has not been their strongest department at Euro 2025, while Spain’s attack is the best in the world – probably by a distance as well. Keeping the world champions out for even one half could be a tall order for the Lionesses.
