Tennis: ATP Masters 1000 Canada – Men’s Singles Betting Tips

Wimbledon 2023

The tennis season is in full swing, with the exciting Toronto Open now underway.

Some of the best players in the world will battle for the trophy, which was won last year by Australian star Alexander Popyrin.

Of course, several of the biggest stars in tennis are taking a well-deserved break for this tournament, with Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alacarz and Novak Djokovic not part of the roster.

But that does not mean we do not have some fascinating match-ups on our hands!

Below are a few online sports betting tips for the opening rounds of the 2025 Toronto Open, all of them featuring the best tennis odds.

*All odds are subject to change

Holger Rune to beat Giovanni Perricard @ 1.38

Danish star Rune, ranked No9 in the world at this moment in time, will really fancy his chances of claiming a sixth career title, with so many of the other big hitters not featuring at the Toronto Open. Rune takes on Perricard in his Round of 64 clash, a match he should win with a fair degree of comfort. A consistent operator with a skill-set suited to all conditions, Rune is the heavy favourite to win this contest – and we are backing him to do so to reach the last 32.

Alexander Zverev vs Adam Walton: Total Breaks Over 4.5 @ 2.20

Rune could meet Zverev in the quarter-finals if all goes to plan for the two talented athletes. Zverev, ranked No3 in the world, will be desperate to showcase his world-class ability after a disappointing Wimbledon campaign. And the German’s ability to return powerful serves with relative ease means we could see a lot of breaks in this contest. Walton looked good against Benjamin Bonzi in his Round of 128 clash, but Zverev represents an enormous step up in quality – and we would be shocked if Walton was able to put up much resistance.

Borna Coric to beat Matteo Gigante @ 1.80

The odds in this Round of 128 clash are fairly close, with Croatian No2 Coric the slight favourite to claim victory. Even though his current ranking of No88 is a way below his career-best of No12 (reached in November 2018) he is still a tennis player capable of top-quality performances. Furthermore, he has won an ATP Masters 1000 tournament, claiming victory at the Cincinnati Open in 2022. With previous success on the big stage, it could be wise to back him against Gigante, who is ranked No125 in the world and still looking to make his way in professional tennis.

Casper Rudd to beat Roman Safiullin @ 1.38

Rudd, formerly World No2 but now World No12, is another player who will have his eyes on the trophy in Sinner, Alcaraz and Djokovic’s absences. Up first for the Norwegian in the Round of 64 is a test against Safiullin and we would be very surprised if the higher-ranked player did not walk away with another comfortable win under his belt.
