The first Milan derby of the 2025-26 season takes place this Sunday evening.
Inter will act as the hosts at San Siro, with just two points separating the fierce local rivals in the Serie A table before kick-off.

Inter – who we must also mention have won all four Champions League games in 2025-26 – are top of the table ahead of Serie A’s resumption, but are only above AS Roma by virtue of having a superior goal difference.
Milan sit third, two points behind the aforementioned pair, and the race for the Scudetto really could not be closer as we approach the festive period.
Since losing 3-1 at champions Napoli at the end of October, Cristian Chivu’s Inter have won three straight Serie A matches, last beating Lazio 2-0 in a convincing display at San Siro.
Max Allegri’s Milan have been unable to put a run of victories together of late, drawing four of the last six in the Italian top flight.
The Rossoneri drew 2-2 at Parma before the break, although their previous home fixture saw them crucially beat Roma 1-0.
Partly thanks to the injection of pragmatic excellence from Allegri, Milan have lost just one league game all season, which came on Matchday 1 at home to Cremonense (1-2).
So both teams are in decent shape ahead of this contest, with plenty of attacking strength on both sides in Lautaro Martinez, Ange-Yoan Bonny, Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao – who have all scored four Serie A goals this season.
And in the five meetings between the pair last term, 15 goals were scored. But perhaps more interestingly, Milan won three of those games, while the other two finished as a draw.
Inter will be more desperate than ever for those bragging rights…
