The final Milan derby of the 2025-26 Serie A season takes place on Sunday evening.
And the fixture represents perhaps the last chance for second-placed AC Milan to compete in the title race.
Ahead of kick-off at San Siro, the Rossoneri trail their fierce local rivals by 10 points, so anything but a victory would effectively hand the trophy to leaders Inter.

AC Milan vs Inter Milan Preview
In Serie A, Inter have been ruthless of late, winning each of the last eight matches. Last Saturday saw Cristian Chivu’s men beat Genoa 2-0 at home.
However, the Nerazzurri were recently dumped out of the Champions League in damaging fashion, losing 5-2 on aggregate to Bodo/Glimt in their play-off tie.
So now the full focus is on domestic matters for the remainder of the campaign, with Inter drawing 0-0 at FC Como on Tuesday in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.
Chivu did rest some key players in that fixture, though. Marcus Thuram and Piotr Zielinski only appeared from the bench, while Federico Dimarco and Nicolo Barella were unused subs.
Inter should therefore be in good shape for the derby, while AC Milan have been inconsistent at best in recent times.
Max Allegri’s men won 2-0 at Cremonense last weekend, but that result followed two home failures against Como (1-1) and – more disappointingly – Parma (0-1).
Furthermore, the win at Cremonese was only secured by two very late goals from Strahinja Pavlovic and Rafael Leao, and star man Christian Pulisic is now nine Serie A matches without a goal.
That being said, AC Milan have a good recent record against Inter, winning the reverse fixture 1-0 in November thanks to a strike from Pulisic himself.
The Rossoneri are unbeaten in the last six editions of this derby across all competitions, scoring 11 goals in those matches and conceding only five.
