Italy to beat Belgium – 2.06
Italy will be out to make it three wins on the spin when Belgium visit the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night. Luciano Spalletti’s men opened their Nations League campaign last month with back-to-back victories over France and Israel. In contrast, Belgium beat the Israelis in their first game before coming unstuck against Les Bleus in Lyon. And with skipper Kevin De Bruyne missing through injury, Domenico Tedesco’s men will have their work cut out when they tackle the Azzurri.
Republic of Ireland to beat Finland – 2.78
This is far from an easy one to call as both teams head into the match on the back of successive defeats. Hosts Finland were beaten 3-0 by Greece and 2-0 by England last month, while the Republic of Ireland fared little better in their 2-0 defeats to those sides. With the odds suggesting there is little to separate them, the luck of Irish may be just enough to see Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men edge a close encounter.
England to beat Greece – 1.26
A packed house at Wembley will expect nothing less than three points when England host Greece. Interim boss Lee Carsley guided his side to 2-0 victories over Ireland and Finland last month to boost his chances of succeeding Gareth Southgate on a permanent basis. But this assignment could prove a little trickier. Greece netted five goals without conceding as they saw off the Finns and the Irish in their first two games. However, the Three Lions should have more than enough quality to get the job done at home.
Denmark to beat Spain – 7.50
While it may seem strange to bet against Spain at home, Denmark have made a perfect start to their Nations League campaign. Kasper Hjulmand’s men saw off 10-man Switzerland 2-0 in their opening game before repeating the result against Serbia. Spain, on the other hand, were held to a goalless draw by the Serbs before they bounced back in style by winning 4-1 in Switzerland. This could prove to be a close affair but the unbeaten Danes get the nod.
Portugal to beat Poland – 1.65
Portugal secured back-to-back 2-1 victories over Croatia and Scotland to open their Nations League campaign — and Cristiano Ronaldo netted in both. The veteran goal machine is the all-time leading scorer in men’s international football and shows no signs of slowing down. Critics continue to claim it is time for him to bow out but Ronaldo will be determined to add to his tally before he even thinks about hanging up his boots.
