Belgium vs Israel Preview

Red Devils boss Domenico Tedesco has a host of familiar faces to call upon for this League A fixture, including Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.

Tedesco, 38, is without Romelu Lukaku following the striker’s move to Napoli from Chelsea but he has bolstered his squad with a number of younger players.

And the Italian-German tactician clearly intends to use the Nations League to experiment before World Cup qualification begins next year.

Tedesco said: “We have six months now till we start the qualification for the World Cup to try something.

“We can bring in fresh players to test a little bit, see how they’re going to perform and to give them the stage.”

While Israel will be massive underdogs in a group also featuring France and Italy, a win on neutral ground would provide a huge boost.

Belgium and Israel met in the UEFA 2016 Qualifiers, with the Red Devils emerging victorious both home and away.

Tedesco will be desperate for a win in this one, having seen his side exit Euro 2024 with a bit of a whimper.

After scraping through the group, Belgium were beaten 1-0 by a lacklustre France side in the Round of 16. Improvements are certainly required moving forward.

The smart money appears to be on a win for Belgium at 1.28. Israel would happily take a draw, which is priced at 5.50, while 9.20 reflects the fact an upset is unlikely.

Belgium vs Israel Betting Tips

With Belgian players dominating the first goalscorer market, 5.00 on Lois Openda offers decent value. But with team-mates Johan Bakayoko, De Bruyne and Dodi Lukebakio all priced at 6.50, you arguably cannot go wrong by backing any of Tedesco’s attacking talent.

Bet Builder Quick Bets: Belgium to win, over 2.5 goals & Openda to score anytime – 2.88

RB Leipzig star Openda, 24, heads into this game on the back of two goals in two Bundesliga appearances. Having also netted in the DFB-Pokal, backing him to score at any point during the 90 minutes seems a decent shout. And with Belgium unlikely to sit back, a victory with over 2.5 goals scored could well be too good to overlook.
