Anderlecht to beat Royal Antwerp @ 2.56

Anderlecht have put their four-game winless run behind them with back-to-back victories over struggling Gent. Besnik Hasi’s side won 5-0 on home soil and then claimed an impressive 1-0 away victory to get their Championship Round campaign up and running. And while Antwerp picked up a shock 1-0 success at Genk last time out, we are still backing Anderlecht to make it three wins in a row. The reverse play-off fixture finished 0-0, but Anderlecht did secure a 2-1 victory in Antwerp back in August.

Club Brugge to win vs Gent by 2 OR 3 goals @ 2.37

On paper, this Championship Round fixture looks a bit of a mismatch. Despite failing to beat USG either home or away, reigning champions Club Brugge have displayed their strength in the play-offs, namely with a 5-0 win against today’s opponents Gent on April 20. At home, Nicky Hayen’s side should once again be far too strong for the Pro League’s sixth-placed team. But with Sunday’s Croky Cup final fast approaching, the manager may look to rest a few of his key players in preparation, which is why we are backing Club Brugge to win comfortably, but not thrash Gent for the second time in quick succession.

Union Saint-Gilloise vs Genk: Under 1.5 goals in the match @ 4.20

It is not hyperbole to suggest that this match could well decide who lifts the trophy. New league leaders USG are on an amazing run, with away victories at Genk and Club Brugge followed by a 0-0 home draw with the latter. USG are already three points ahead of Genk and another win here would almost certainly spell the end for Thorsten Fink’s side. We are not quite sure which way this match will go, but with tension levels high – combined with the fact that USG’s last two matches have featured less than 1.5 goals – it seems wise to back a low-scoring thriller in Brussels.

Charleroi to beat Standard Liege @ 2.23

Charleroi lead the Europa Conference League Qualification Group thanks to last weekend’s 4-1 thrashing of Dender. In contrast, Standard are rock bottom of this play-off section, having not won any of their previous six matches. Lest we forget, Charleroi also won the reverse fixture 1-0, so backing them to deliver another victory in Liege appears to be a sensible course of action.
