As the shadow of the Play-Offs looms over every game in the Jupiler Pro League, teams are beginning to feel the heat as the day draws nearer. After settling in once again after the Christmas break, the 16 participants forming the division all know what they need to do to match their ambitions come the end of the season.

Genk to beat Westerlo @ 2.11

League leaders Genk are holding fast in their battle for top spot with Club Brugge. With the deficit down to one point, they cannot afford anything other than a win here. So far, they have been consistent and their performances admirable. But how will they fare in the face of a latest test against relegation-battling Westerlo? We’re backing them to make it three consecutive Pro League wins to remain on top for at least another week.

Charleroi vs Cercle Brugge to end in draw @ 3.45

Cercle have produced an outstanding run of form over the past few weeks (three wins in four) to drag themselves out of the relegation zone. But this week, they’ll come face-to-face with 8th-placed Charleroi, who are trying to mount their own assault on the Championship Play-Offs. It will be a tough contest between two highly-motivated teams and we think on this occasion, the points will be shared.

Standard Liege to beat Dender @ 2.17

Separated by only three points, this could be a huge clash in the mid-table scrap. It could also be influential in ending the hopes of either team reaching the Play-Offs. But Standard will be keen not to let that happen as they aim for a third win on the trot, which could see them jump into the top six. But Dender won’t surrender easily, as they need a good run to avoid the risk of mid-table obscurity. However, we back Standard to have the edge in this one, especially with the benefit of home advantage.

Gent to beat Oud-Heverlee Leuven @ 2.71

Without a win in three games and being closed down rapidly by Standard, Gent are desperate for a win. Their place in the top six is under huge threat and they need to improve fast if they want to continue a run for the Play-Offs. Gent won the reverse fixture against Leuven 3-0 and they will be desperate to repeat those heroics this weekend. And we think that is what will happen in an impressive and vital away victory.
