Gent vs KV Mechelen
After suffering a pre-Christmas 2-0 defeat to Club Brugge, Gent have bounced back with two successive victories, beating Leuven and Kortrijk without conceding. They will be huge favourites heading into the game at the KAA Arena, and for good reason. Gent have not lost a league game on home soil since April 2023. This record includes impressive results this campaign, taking points off Club Brugge, Anderlecht and St. Gilloise.
Mechelen make the trip following a 3-1 defeat at Charleroi, leaving them in danger of falling into the relegation playoffs. They have lost back-to-back away matches this season and have lost all of their previous three visits to Gent without scoring a goal.
Gent to win – 1.40
Standard Liege vs Kortrijk
Kortrijk are rock-bottom of the Jupiler Pro League with 10 points from 20 games. Bar a miraculous run to end the season, they will be resigned to spot in the relegation playoffs and will be forced to fight for their top-flight lives in the post-season. They have lost five matches in a row and seven of their last eight ahead of the game in Liege.
Liege need a strong end to the season to steal a spot in the top six. Despite their turbulent form, they have largely remained consistent at home. They are unbeaten at Maurice Dufrasnestadion since August, winning five and drawing five of their games since. Standard were beaten 2-0 when Kortrijk last made the trip. However, a lot has changed in the year since and Kortrijk have almost accepted their relegation playoff fate.
Standard Liege to win – 1.50
Club Brugge vs Westerlo
We could be in for an exciting game at Jan Breydel Stadion. Club Brugge sit in fifth, 14 points adrift of Union Saint-Gilloise. They will need to put together a near-flawless run of results to have any chance of catching the league leaders. They are another side excelling on home soil and have not lost across all competitions this season. While they should have the quality to get over the line, Westerlo will undoubtedly make it difficult for them.
The away side have scored in 15 straight matches since a 0-0 draw with Standard Liege in September. This run includes scoring in eight consecutive away matches. We can see them going toe-to-toe with Brugge for a large part of the game but coming unstuck in the last 20 minutes.
Club Brugge to win and both teams to score – 2.63
