The 2024-25 Jupiler Pro League season is already in full swing while other teams in Europe are still getting through their pre-season campaigns.
Unsurprisingly, the opening weekend of Belgian top-flight fixtures did not disappoint with drama aplenty and now focus switches to the exciting second round of matches.
Can champions Club Brugge bounce back from a disappointing draw in their opener? We will find that out and much, much more this weekend.
Bet 777 is here for all your sports betting needs and we have a number of different markets for the Jupiler Pro League. Read on for out latest betting tips.
Club Brugge to beat Standard Liege @ 1.64
*Odds are subject to change
Arguably the standout fixture of the weekend between two of the biggest clubs in Belgium, Club Brugge will be desperate to put last weekend’s result behind them.
The Jupiler Pro League trophy holders were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Mechelen, a hugely underwhelming start to their 2024-25 campaign having lost the Belgian Super Cup final to Union Saint-Gilloise the weekend before.
However, while recent results have not been great, we are still backing Club Brugge to get the job done here.
Standard Liege drew 0-0 with Genk in their opener and it is going to be mighty tough for them to keep a second consecutive clean sheet against one of the best attacks in the league, now spearheaded by summer signing Gustaf Nilsson – who will be desperate to get off the mark this season.
Anderlecht to beat Antwerp @ 2.34
Another fixture to look forward to in the Jupiler Pro League.
Both Anderlecht and Antwerp won their opening fixtures 1-0 and will each fancy their chances of victory on Sunday afternoon.
It is a hard one to call, but we are siding with Anderlecht, who finished third in the Championship play-off round last season.
With Andres Dreyer and Kasper Dolberg in attack, Antwerp – who are priced at 2.86 – may struggle to contain their opposition’s forward line.
Genk to beat Leuven @ 2.12
Both of these sides got off to disappointing starts on the opening weekend with a pair of 0-0 draws.
Surely this one has to be more of a thriller, right?
Leuven will be no pushovers but we fancy Genk to pick up an important victory here to get their season up and running.
New head coach Thorsten Fink exceeded expectations at Sint-Truiden last season and will be looking to do the same at Genk, perhaps even mounting a title challenge.
Westerlo to beat Mechelen @ 3.61
Yes, we are siding with the underdog here – and for good reason.
Westerlo go into this weekend top of the Jupiler Pro League table thanks to an impressive 3-0 win over Cercle Brugge in their opener.
Momentum is certainly with them ahead of Matchday 2, hence why we fancy them to make it two consecutive league victories against a Mechelen side priced at 1.85.
Mechelen did draw 1-1 away at Club Brugge in their opener, though. With that in mind, both teams to score at 1.47 looks very, very tempting indeed.
