Westerlo to beat Mechelen @ 2.14
Westerlo started the season in very promising fashion but have fallen off quite dramatically in recent weeks.
They have lost three of their last five Pro League matches and now occupy 10th place in the table, three behind Friday’s opponents Mechelen.
But Mechelen are not in great form either, having lost two of the last three games.
It is no surprise that the odds are relatively close in this fixture, however, we are siding with Westerlo due to the importance of home advantage.
Club Brugge to beat Union Saint-Gilloise @ 2.51
Reigning champions Club Brugge are the form team in the Pro League right now with four consecutive victories.
Last weekend, they beat Genk 2-0 to close the gap at the top of the table to just one point. Club Brugge are also the division’s leading scorers with 38 goals.
So confidence levels will be high when they travel to play USG on Sunday and another crucial victory looks on the cards.
USG are unbeaten in their last five but may struggle to match the visitors’ unquestionable quality in all departments. It should be a cracking game, one in which Club Brugge emerge victorious!
Anderlecht to beat Genk @ 3.29
Table-topping Genk go into this match as favourites but their recent form is certainly cause for concern.
With only two wins in the last five, alarm bells may be ringing and the last team they would want to face is in-form Anderlecht.
The giants of Belgian football are riding the crest of a wave right now, mustering four wins in five and sitting five points ahead of fourth-placed Antwerp.
With the league’s top scorer Kasper Dolberg (12 goals) in a rich vein of form, Anderlecht can deal Genk’s title hopes a major blow – and boost their own!
Leuven to beat Cercle Brugge @ 3.32
The final match on Sunday is a big one in terms of the relegation race.
Cercle Brugge are currently 15th in the table and have already lost nine matches this season.
Are their Europa Conference League commitments having a negative impact? They could well be and after another tough midweek match against Istanbul Basaksehir, we can see them struggling once again on Matchday 19.
Leuven are unbeaten in the last five, albeit with four of those matches ending in a draw, and should really fancy themselves to claim a crucial away win.
