Of course, Mechelen recorded a first play-off win against Gent last weekend, but a trip to Brussels is a far tougher assignment. USG should make a statement here, with this over 2.5 pick landing in three of their last four Pro League contests.
Club Brugge to beat STVV @ 1.49
The confidence in the Club Brugge camp must be extremely high right now, because their 3-1 victory at fierce rivals Anderlecht has completely altered the outlook of the season. As such, you almost feel sorry for STVV having to make the daunting trip to the Jan Breydel Stadium at this time. Yes, the side from Sint-Truiden beat USG on Matchday 6, but travelling to Bruges with the likes of Christos Tzolis in red-hot form is far from ideal. Club Brugge won 2-1 at STVV earlier in the play-offs, and also won 2-0 at home during the regular season. So while the odds on offer are perhaps not the best, we just cannot look past Ivan Leko’s in-form side here.
Gent vs Anderlecht: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.65
Gent are still searching for a first win in the play-offs following the aforementioned 1-0 loss at Mechelen on Matchday 6. Anderlecht are also on a poor run, the loss to Club Brugge their third in succession. So it is not looking good for either of these sides, which could result in an open and goal-filled game – as it was in each of the last two editions of this fixture. Gent won 4-2 on home soil back in January, while Anderlecht recorded a 3-1 success on April 12. And perhaps the key stat here is that five of Anderlecht’s six play-off matches thus far saw both teams score!
