So we just need Club Brugge’s defence to be a bit sharper this time around!
Union Saint-Gilloise to beat STVV @ 1.75
USG will be well aware of the precarious situation at the top of the table, holding a slender advantage which could disappear at any given moment. But David Hubert’s side can certainly rely on their strong home form in these tricky play-off games. USG won 14 of 15 home matches in the regular season, scoring 32 goals and conceding only five. It is quite the record, and while STVV finished with the second-best away record, we just cannot look past a win for the reigning champions here. STVV ended the regular season with two consecutive defeats, the most recent a 3-1 home loss to USG!
Gent to beat Mechelen @ 1.99
Gent ended the regular season in tremendous fashion, reeling off three straight victories to finish fifth. In contrast, Mechelen ended the campaign with two defeats in their last three matches, both of those losses coming away from home. As such, a Gent win on home soil – something they have achieved on each of the last two attempts – looks like the betting play here. Gent also beat Mechelen 3-1 at home as recently as March 8, hence why this well-priced pre-match selection really stands out.
