Jupiler Pro League Calendar – Matchday 11 Preview

Domestic football returns this weekend and with it comes some enticing match-ups in the Jupiler Pro League calendar. Eupen and Antwerp have established themselves as early frontrunners, whilst the likes of Standard Liege and Gent are struggling to keep pace.

We’ve previewed the upcoming fixtures in this week’s Jupiler Pro League calendar to provide you with sports betting tips. Take a look at our predictions and place your sports bets with Bet777.be – the best place for online bets and live betting on the Jupiler Pro League.

Club Brugge vs Kortrijk

Kortrijk may have only lost 1 from their last 5, but they have also only been victorious once. With three 2-2 draws, the away side have conceded too frequently and have been unable to turn close games into 3 points. Faiz Selemanie is in fine form and has already netted 6 times, but not many teams can go toe-to-toe with Club Brugge and come out on top.

The Champions have won 10 of the last 13 league fixtures between these two, with Kortrijk winning just once. It’s difficult to see anything other than 3 points for Philippe Clement’s side.

Club Brugge win @ 1.29

Saint Gilloise vs Seraing

Seraing ended a 3 game losing streak in the league last time out with a 5-1 hammering of Waregem. Georgian prospect Georges Mikautadze impressed with a hat-trick and Frenchman Youssef Maziz continued his electric start to the campaign with another goal. Seraing have however lost 4 out of 5 games on the road and they face a difficult task in breaching this strong Saint Gilloise defence.

With just 9 conceded in 10 games, Saint Gilloise comfortably have the best defensive record in the league. As if that wasn’t enough, their strike partnership of Undav and Vanzeir has 14 goals and 8 assists between them. Seraing may have impressed against Waregem, but they have only kept 1 clean sheet thus far. Saint Gilloise will have too much at both ends of the pitch for the visitors.

Saint Gilloise win @ 1.36

Oostende vs Cercle Brugge

With 6 defeats from their last 7 games, Cercle Brugge’s poor form has seen them slip into the bottom two. A youthful defence has not helped matters, with them not having kept a clean sheet since their opening day win over Beerschot VA.

Oostende have also been subpar defensively, but Makhtar Gueye has not stopped scoring and has consistently provided his team with a lifeline. The Senegalese forward has netted 4 times in his last 3 league games and is responsible for 50% of his side’s 14 goals this season. The home side should have enough going forward to outscore the visitors and it would be no surprise to see Gueye’s name on the scoresheet yet again.

Oostende win @ 2.10

Waregem vs Antwerp

Waregem have conceded 13 goals in the last 4 games. With the worst defensive record in the league, something needs to change for Waregem. But things don’t get any easier as they face a visit from the league’s top goalscorer Michael Frey.

Frey against the league’s worst defence can only mean one thing. Antwerp have proven their ability to put goals past the best – so things don’t look promising for Waregem. With Fischer and Gerkens in supporting roles, it is difficult to look past Antwerp to take all three points on the road.

Antwerp win @ 1.74

Standard Liege vs Leuven

Leuven’s attacking issues intensified in the last round of fixtures in the Jupiler Pro League Calendar, as they became the only team that has failed to score against Beerschot VA this season. They face a trip to Liege to face a struggling side that has not fared much better going forward.

After a strong start, 4 defeats in their last 5 has seen Standard Liege slip down to the bottom half of the table, with Moroccan Selim Amallah being a shining light for the Belgian giants. Despite their poor form, Liege can’t afford to keep dropping points if they are to keep pace with the top 8. They should have enough to get over the line against a lacklustre Leuven side.

Standard Liege win @ 1.83

Sint Truiden vs Anderlecht

Although Sint Truiden have only lost once in their last 5, their form at home has been significantly worse than on the road. They have picked up just 4 of their 14 points on home turf and face a visit from an Anderlecht side who have lost just once in their last 8 league games.

Anderlecht’s frontline features the talented Yari Verschaeren, Joshua Zirkzee and Benito Raman. They have stumbled to 3 consecutive draws in recent weeks, but we expect them to be too good for Sint Truiden as they look to climb towards the summit of the table.

Anderlecht win @ 1.80

Beerschot VA vs KV Mechelen

It has become almost impossible to back Beerschot at this point, especially when playing at home. They are yet to pick up a point, or even score a goal at the Olympisch Stadion during this year’s Jupiler Pro League calendar. They managed to stop a 7-game losing streak last time out with a 0-0 draw against Leuven, but it already seems too late.

KV Mechelen have won 3 in a row, conceding just once in the process. Nikola Storm continues to look unstoppable in front of goal, the Belgian has netted 6 in his last 6 and is the main reason Mechelen sit just 4 points off the top of the table. Given the contrast in form of these two teams, we can’t see anything other than an away win.

KV Mechelen win @ 2.20

Charleroi vs Genk

Charleroi were able to prevent a 3 game losing streak thanks to a 95th minute equaliser against Kortrijk last time out. The home side have been solid defensively but have struggled for goals as of late, they may face a tough task in trying to stop Genk’s rampant attack.

With 21 goals in 10 games, no team has scored more this season. The visitors will likely be back to full strength with Paul Onuachu leading the line and Theo Bongonda able to make his first start since returning from injury. With a fully firing front three supported by talented Norwegian Kristian Thorstvedt, we’re not sure there is a defence in the league that can handle Genk.

Genk win @ 2.15

Gent vs Eupen

Despite their poor start to the campaign overall, only Mechelen have picked up more points at home than Gent. They do however face a visit from the league leaders who have picked up 13 from a possible 15 points on the road.

Eupen have scored the joint most goals this season and the upturn in form of Bosnian Smail Prevljak has been pivotal, with the 26 year-old has netted 3 in his last 2 for Eupen. The league’s second best home form meets the best away from in a game which looks even on paper.

Draw @ 4.20
