Jupiler Pro League 23/24: Matchday 3 Preview

As we head toward the third round of Jupiler Pro League fixtures, Saint-Gilloise, Gent and St. Truiden are the only teams with two wins from two. We’ve previewed the upcoming matches, taking a look at who might provide some value in the football odds.

Whether you choose to bet at Bet777.be or any other online sportsbook, you can enjoy a whole range of sports betting markets on all the biggest events this year.

Union Saint-Gilloise vs Leuven

Union are sitting pretty at the top of the Jupiler Pro League rankings with six points from six as one of only two teams yet to concede a goal. Led by last season’s signing Dennis Eckert Ayensa, St. Gilloise are looking primed for another run at the title. The German striker has netted in each of their opening two games and is looking a shrewd replacement for Dante Vanzeir and Deniz Undav.

Leuven face the unenviable task of trying to end Union’s 100% record. The visitors opened up the campaign with a 1-1 draw against 10-men Charleroi, before losing 2-1 at home against the newly promoted RWDM. We expect to see Leuven battling down at the bottom come the end of the season based on what we’ve seen so far.

Union Saint-Gilloise to win – 1.43

Eupen vs Club Brugge

Club Brugge aren’t exactly back to their high-flying best, but they did navigate a tricky fixture on the road against Westerlo and claim all three points in the process. It was Igor Thiago once again sealing the points, with the former Ludogorets man looking worth every penny. They are level on points with Eupen as they prepare to travel to Kehrwegstadion, which is never an easy place to go.

Eupen followed up a decent 1-1 opening weekend draw with Westerlo with a snatch-and-grab on the road against Genk. They managed just 26% possession and five shots compared to Genk’s 28 shots, but manage to escape with a clean sheet and all three points. Things don’t get any easier as they prepare to face a Club Brugge side starting to build some momentum.

Club Brugge to win – 1.57

Westerlo vs Gent

Gent have enjoyed a positive start to their season, both in the Jupiler Pro League and in the Europa Conference League qualification round. Hugo Cuypers and Gift Orban have started as they mean to go on, nearly racking up a double-figure goal tally between them already. We’re expecting goals when they travel to face Westerlo.

It would be tough for the hosts to replicate their achievements from last season. They massively overachieved in the first season back in the first division. They will need to improve on their first two performances if they are to claim a first win of the season against Gent this weekend.

Gent to win – 2.01
