Standard Liege to beat La Louviere @ 2.33
Standard pulled off a huge victory last weekend, beating Genk 3-0 away from home. It is a result which followed a credible 1-1 draw vs league leaders Union Saint-Gilloise, so perhaps this is a turning point for the Liege outfit. In stark contrast, La Louviere currently look doomed to a spot in the Relegation Round, failing to win any of the last five – and losing three of those fixtures. As such, Standard get our nod of approval for the win here, especially when the price on offer is better than evens!
Royal Antwerp vs STVV: Anytime goalscorer – Keisuke Goto @ 2.70
Goto is the leading scorer in the Pro League this season with 10 goals, netting two in his previous three matches. And while last weekend’s win vs Dender did not yield another goal, the Japanese star still tallied two crucial assists. But we are backing him to return to scoring ways when STVV visit Antwerp this weekend, especially as the hosts have conceded 10 times in the previous four matches – even losing 4-0 to Anderlecht at home! So Goto has the form, quality and ideal opponent in his crosshairs to play a leading role for STVV once again, as they look to make it four consecutive Pro League wins.
Union Saint-Gilloise to beat Westerlo @ 1.70
The league leaders are back in action against a Westerlo side which has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks. In fact, Westerlo have won three of the last four in the Pro League, most recently claiming a 2-1 home victory over Charleroi. However, their previous match at home saw them lose 4-0 to STVV, so we expect USG to make their class count. Interestingly, USG failed to win any of the last four away games across all competitions, but David Hubert’s side can put things right here.
Cercle Brugge to beat Dender @ 1.70
A key battle at the very bottom of the table. Cercle Brugge are in with a chance of avoiding the Relegation Round after two wins in the last three games, even beating Gent 2-1 away from home last weekend. And another victory here would heap pressure on OH Leuven and Zulte Waregem in the spots above, with each of them having tough away fixtures on Matchday 28. Dender’s winless run was extended to five games courtesy of a 4-1 home defeat to STVV, so Cercle Brugge can certainly add to the bottom side’s woes on Sunday evening.
