Cercle Brugge vs Union Saint-Gilloise: Anytime goalscorer – Promise David @ 2.50
USG star David is now the outright top scorer in the Pro League with eight goals. The Canadian forward opened the scoring in last weekend’s 2-0 home win over Zulte Waregem, and up next he takes on a team struggling at the foot of the table. Cercle Brugge did win 2-0 at Leuven on Matchday 19, but that was only their third win of the whole season. So it is hard to look past a comfortable triumph for table-toppers USG, and we are backing David to strike again to help seal all three points.
Royal Antwerp to beat Zulte Waregem @ 1.95
Antwerp’s winning run came to an end last weekend, drawing 2-2 with Anderlecht in a thoroughly enjoyable match. But while three points were not collected, the overall performance from Antwerp was still very promising, and should put them in good stead ahead of this match against Zulte Waregem. The newly-promoted side lost 2-0 at USG after a run of draws, results which have seen them slip down the table. And Antwerp have the form and quality to inflict more pain on Zulte Waregem.
Standard Liege vs STVV: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.67
This is a meeting between two sides with aspirations of playing in the Championship Round come the latter stages of the campaign. Third-placed STVV have won four of the last five in the Pro League, while sixth-placed Standard boast three victories in the last four. Picking a winner is pretty tough indeed, so we are playing things a bit safer here by looking at the BTTS market. STVV are the joint-third highest scorers in the whole division with 28 goals, and Standard have found the back of the net at least once in four of the last five matches across all competitions.
Westerlo to beat Gent @ 2.77
Westerlo look to have turned a corner, unbeaten in the last five and with two wins in the previous three – which includes the huge 4-0 triumph over Anderlecht. From a Gent perspective, things are not going according to plan, with three defeats in the previous four Pro League matches. Of course, Gent are seventh in the division’s home table with a good record of four wins in nine, while Westerlo are actually bottom of the away standings. But we are still going against the grain here and tipping the visitors to continue their recent good run of form.
