The regular season in the 2024-25 edition of the Jupiler Pro League is now over.
However, the fun is only just beginning, as we look towards the exciting play-off rounds.
The likes of Genk, Club Brugge and Union Saint-Gilloise will compete for glory in the Championship Round, while Beerschot, Cercle Brugge, Kortrijk and STVV are in the Relegation Round, looking to avoid the dreaded drop.
It is going to be a rollercoaster ride in Belgium’s top flight after the final international break of the season and with fixtures just on the horizon, we have decided to take a look at the leading goal-getters in the Pro League at this stage.
If you are looking to place a football bet on any matches across Europe, remember that there are a range of live betting markets available on all the fixtures.
Tolu Arokodare (Genk) – 17 goals
Nigerian striker Arokodare was a key player in Genk’s hugely successful regular season. Without him, they probably would not have finished top of the pile. The 24-year-old’s 17 goals came from 30 Pro League appearances and he scored in the 2-1 victory over Union Saint-Gilloise on Matchday 30. Arokodare’s two braces in the Belgian top flight came against Beerschot in August and vs Royal Antwerp on Boxing Day.
Adriano Bertaccini (Sint-Truidense) – 16 goals
Despite the fact STVV are in the Relegation Round after a hugely disappointing regular season, Bertaccini was able to announce himself to the footballing world with contributions aplenty. The young Belgian striker scored close to half of STVV’s 41 goals and his side will look to him in their struggle to avoid the drop. And if they do succumb to relegation, expect Bertaccini to be snapped up by a European top-flight side in the summer.
Kasper Dolberg (Anderlecht) – 14 goals
Dolberg’s goal tally is made all the more impressive by the fact he featured in only 22 of Anderlecht’s 30 matches, with various injury issues hindering his time on the pitch. Back in November, the Danish centre forward enjoyed a three-game run in which he scored seven goals, including a hat-trick against Cercle Brugge. Sadly, Dolberg has not featured in the Pro League since mid-February and Anderlecht will be desperate to get him back fully fit for the Championship Round.
Benito Raman (Mechelen) – 13 goals
Belgian veteran Raman, 30, enjoyed a fruitful campaign in front of goal, netting 13 times in 24 appearances for mid-table Mechelen. Raman scored in Mechelen’s final two matches of the regular season, both of them victories, and also went on a four-game scoring streak in the Pro League between November 8 and December 7.
So, there you have it!
The others players to have reached double figures in the regular season are as follows:
11 goals – Daan Heymans (Charleroi), Tjaronn Chery (Antwerp), Franjo Ivanovic (Union Saint-Gilloise), Promise Akinpelu (Union Saint-Gilloise)
10 goals – Vincent Janssen (Antwerp), Kevin Denkey (Cercle Brugge)
