Gent vs Cercle Brugge

A win this weekend would seal Gent’s place in Europe next season, and deservedly so. They have won all three of their Jupiler Pro League 2023 post-season games, including a 4-0 victory in the reverse of this fixture last weekend. The hosts have lost just twice at home in 12 games in 2023, and their record against Cercle Brugge at the Ghelamco is impressive. Gent have won seven of their previous 10 home matches against the visitors, losing just once.

Cercle Brugge are conceding too many goals to be considered in this one. They have been on the receiving end of seven goals in two outings, which doesn’t bode well as they prepare to try and stop the in-form Gent attack. Hugo Cuypers took his tally to 22 goals for the season and four in five appearances last time out, while wonderkid Gift Orban bagged a hat-trick to make it 14 goals in 13 league games.

Gent to win – 1.66

Club Brugge vs Antwerp

Club Brugge were probably a touch unlucky to lose at Bosuilstadion last weekend. They led 2-1 at half-time, but 86th and 97th-minute goals completed a memorable comeback for the title-chasing Antwerp. They may have lost all three of their Jupiler Pro League 2023 playoff games, but we can’t see them losing four on the bounce.

Antwerp have been strong away from home but have beaten Brugge just twice at Jan Breydel in 15 attempts, losing 12. With Union SG breathing down their neck, a point might not be enough, but they will struggle to take all three from the champions.

Draw and both teams to score – 4.15

Genk vs Union Saint-Gilloise

A monumental collapse has seen Genk fall four points adrift of the league leaders. They have now lost back-to-back playoff games and were humbled in a 3-0 defeat to Union last weekend. The Saint-Gilloise defence completely nullified Genk’s creativity, which was reduced already due to Mike Tresor’s suspension. With their chief playmaker missing once more, it’s tough to see them holding the visiting Union.

Union know a win this weekend could be enough to take them top of the table heading into the final two fixtures. They may no longer have the ability to eclipse teams with their attack, but they are undoubtedly finding a way to grind out results against strong opposition. We can see this title race going down to the final game of the season.

Union Saint-Gilloise to win – 2.97
