Cercle Brugge vs Gent
Victory for Gent in Saturday’s standout tie could see them increase the gap at the top of the Conference group to eight points. They are now strong favourites to cement a place in Europe but face a tricky visit to Cercle Brugge. But Antwerp have slowly worked their way into the lead with remarkable consistency since the turn of the year. They have now won eight of their previous nine league outings and lifted the Belgian Cup just a few weeks ago. They will be full of confidence and momentum following their cup triumph and will have their eyes firmly set on the double.
Club Brugge’s form in the past few months has been poor and they are set to surrender the league title. The champions have lost both playoff games against Genk and Union, and everything is pointing toward another defeat at Bosuilstadion. Antwerp have won three home matches on the bounce and have lost just once in 10 on home soil in 2023. We can’t see them dropping points against a Brugge side that have won only once in their last eight away games.

Union Saint-Gilloise vs Genk
Providing Antwerp beat the champions, this is a must-win for both Union and Genk if they are to stay within striking distance of the Jupiler Pro League 2023 league leaders. Both have faltered in recent weeks, but Genk have well and truly thrown the league title away. They are now without a win in six away games ahead of their trip to Union and they will be without key man Mike Tresor following his red card last weekend.
In contrast, Union got back to winning ways away at Club Brugge and looked fairly comfortable in the process. They didn’t have much of the ball, but they didn’t need it. They will still feel that they can chase down this league title, starting with three points against a Genk side in turmoil.
