St. Truiden vs Anderlecht
If it weren’t for an early red card in their second Jupiler Pro League 2022 game, Anderlecht might well have three wins from three. Aside from the Cercle Brugge defeat, they have impressed under new manager and Pro League Coach of the Year Felice Mazzu. Francis Amuzu looks primed for another solid season, with the 22-year-old having netted a brace in a 3-1 win over Seraing.
As well as promoting from within, Anderlecht have done good business acquiring Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves. The Portuguese striker has netted in three out of four games in all competitions, and will be pivotal in his side’s title chances. We expect Anderlecht to pick up all three points on the road against a St. Truiden side that have drawn every game thus far. The hosts were fairly unspectacular last season, and they appear set for another midtable campaign.
Anderlecht win – 2.00
Eupen vs Antwerp
Antwerp are the only team in the Jupiler Pro League 2022 campaign with three wins from three, and it’s no surprise to see Michael Frey as joint top goalscorer. The Swiss forward ended last season with 24 in 39 games, and any hopes Antwerp have of keeping pace with Club Brugge will be largely resting on his shoulders. The addition of Toby Alderweireld also looks an intelligent one, bolstering their defence with real European experience.
The visitors will look to make it four from four away from home against Eupen this weekend. The hosts have lost two of their opening three, but managed to beat the champions to pick up their only points. Discipline isn’t their strong point and they have had a man sent off in two games – check out Bet777.be’s latest odds on Eupen to be awarded a red card.
Antwerp win – 1.90
Waregem vs Genk
Genk have looked back to their free flowing, attacking best at the start of this Jupiler Pro League 2022 campaign. Their opening day defeat against Club Brugge just have easily could have ended with them taking all the points themselves, and they quickly bounced back with two wins. Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye has been the standout for the visitors so far, scoring in every game, but Cyriel Dessers and Joseph Paintsil have also hit the ground running.
Waregem’s draw against the champions last time out was proof that they will not just roll over this weekend, but the visitors will be strong favourites to hand them another defeat. With the intensity and tempo we have seen from Genk in their first three games, another high-scoring win could be on the cards.
Genk win – 1.76
