The hosts will be looking to make a statement in their first game of the home competition. Their talented squad has many tipping them to be underdogs to win the tournament. Scotland qualified for the tournament through the play offs and will look to be a surprise package that not too many expect to even make it past the group stages. And although they definitely have a tough task ahead of them, they may well just shock a few people on the way. Steve Clarke’s side have a wealth of talent at their disposal and players experienced in top leagues are critical to surviving in international football.
Premier League regulars among others will face Germany this friday in an organised side that will try to smother and outwork Germany, keeping them out of the penalty area and then striking fast in possession. In this unforgiving group, Scotland will need to fight until the very end of every game and take nothing for granted.
