Like last year, 2024 has been pretty much all about one man in Formula One and that man is defending champion Max Verstappen.
The Red Bull driver has dominated the field for the most part as we head into the 13th race of the season in Hungary.
Verstappen has won seven of the previous 12 races and finished on the podium nine times.
So, can anyone stop the Dutchman this weekend? 777 Sport have previewed the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, looking at the latest Formula 1 betting odds.
Hungarian Grand Prix Preview
While Verstappen has enjoyed victories aplenty in 2024, he will be eager to get back to winning ways after losing out at the British Grand Prix.
The Red Bull man had to settle for second place as Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton picked up a momentous win on home soil.
In fact, Mercedes have won the last two races, with George Russell securing first at the Austrian Grand Prix and Verstappen finishing 37 seconds behind the winner.
Verstappen’s last triumph came at the Spanish Grand Prix but as per usual, he is the big favourite heading into this weekend.
The three-time world champion is well on course to break the majority of Formula 1’s records and cruised to victory in Hungary last year, when he finished 33 seconds ahead of runner-up Lando Norris.
But Red Bull will have to be wary of McLaren driver Norris in this race. He is currently second in the driver standings ahead of Ferrari pair Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
Verstappen’s Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez is in sixth place and he too will be desperate to get some more points on the board after finishing second in the standings last season.
