Formula 1: Belgian Grand Prix 2025 Preview

The Formula 1 action resumes next weekend after a short mid-season break as the 2025 edition of the Belgian Grand Prix takes centre stage in the sporting world.

It is a race which is held in high regard by many F1 fans, partly due to the intense nature of the track at Spa.

Drivers Championship leaders Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will each be eyeing another victory as McLaren look to extend their huge advantage at the top of the Constructors Championship table.

With just over a week to go until the cars are lined up and ready for action, we take a look at the sports betting odds on the Belgian GP, as well as providing a brief overview of this exciting Formula 1 event.

Belgian Grand Prix Preview

Norris and Piastri could not be in better form heading into this race. The McLaren pair claimed a one-two finish at the last two GPs in Austria and Great Britain respectively.

Piastri was second in both of those races, but the Australian driver is still top of the Drivers Championship by eight points, with he and Norris each finishing on the podium 10 times so far this season.

On paper, it looks likely to be yet another dominant weekend for the McLaren team at Spa, with Max Verstappen and his Red Bull team unable to really match their rivals in 2025. Christian Horner was also sacked as Team Principal earlier this month.

However, one driver to keep a close eye on next weekend is Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton.

The British legend won this race back in 2024 with Mercedes, taking him to five victories overall – the joint-most alongside fellow F1 icon Michael Schumacher.

Hamilton finished fourth in Austria and achieved the same result on his home track at Silverstone, which are perhaps signs that he is finally beginning to rediscover his best form in the famous red of Ferrari.

But we must also mention that Verstappen is pretty fond of the Belgian GP too.

The Dutchman and reigning world champion has won this race three times, with those three wins coming in consecutive years (2021, 2022 and 2023).

With two race wins already under his belt in 2025 (The Italian GP and Japan GP), write Verstappen off in Belgium at your own peril, even with the lingering rumours of his impending switch to Mercedes.
