Formula 1: Qatar Grand Prix Race Preview
Verstappen’s victory in Singapore saw him reach the 400-point mark in the Drivers Championship standings, nearly 200 ahead of teammate Sergio Perez. It is now no longer a case of if the Dutchman will win the title, but rather a case of just how soon he can do so.
He’ll be looking to notch up a 14th victory this season at the weekend, but given there has only been one previous race at the Lusail International Circuit, could we be in for another shock result? It is the track that drivers are the least familiar with having only taken place once in 2021. The winner on that day was Lewis Hamilton, with Verstappen battling back from a 7th-place grid position to come second.
It will certainly be another interesting race but most will be expecting Verstappen’s dominance to continue. Red Bull have not let up since the very first outing in Bahrain, and even with their loss in Singapore, they are cruising toward another Constructors title.
Therefore, it is the battle for the outside podium positions which currently attracts the most attention. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took advantage of Perez’s collision to claim second and third place in Japan, followed by the Ferraris Charles Leclerc and George Russell, who finished either side of Lewis Hamilton.

Formula 1: Qatar GP Betting Tips
Top 3 Finish: Lando Norris – 1.66
Norris has been incredibly consistent since the midway point of the season. He has five top five finishes in the last eight races, including four second-place finishes. He has finished as the runner-up in back-to-back races ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix and will be confident in upsetting the Red Bull dominance.
Top 3 Finish: Oscar Piastri – 2.50
Piastri is another driver with form trending in the right direction. He followed up a seventh-place finish in Singapore with a podium in Japan and will be among the favourites to do so once more in Qatar.
