Formula 1 2023: Austrian GP Preview
Verstappen has raced clear at the top after winning six of the opening eight Formula 1 2023 races. The other two were won by his teammate Sergio Perez, with a Red Bull clean sweep putting them firmly in pole position for the Constructors title.
However, although Verstappen has maintained his dominance, Perez has not registered a podium finish since coming 16th in Monaco. The slight dip in performance has allowed the likes of Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton to sneak up the rankings.
Despite Charles Leclerc’s victory last year in Austria, Verstappen will be firm favourite to top the podium for a seventh time this season. He has won three of the previous five Austrian GPs, failing to finish in the other two.
In fact, the only current drivers that have recorded a victory in Austria are Lewis Hamilton (2016), Valtteri Bottas (2017, 2020) and Charles Leclerc (2022). The chances of them upsetting the odds are slim given the ruthless speed we have seen from Red Bull thus far in the Formula 1 2023 season, but anything could happen.

Formula 1 2023: Austrian GP Betting Tips
Lewis Hamilton Top 2 Finish – 3.00
Hamilton has plenty of experience on this track, and although it has not been one of his most successful, he still has an Austrian GP win under his belt. The Englishman has steadily improved in recent races, finishing 4th in Monaco, 2nd in Spain, and 3rd in Canada.
He will need to find a way to get between the Red Bull boys, but if any driver has the quality to do so, it’s the seven-time champion.

There have been four Red Bull 1-2s this season already. Their dominance is unprecedented, and we expect them to iron out any issues to put the pressure on once more in Austria. There is no doubt Verstappen will be among the frontrunners but there is every chance Sergio Perez is too. We wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them both on the podium.
