Hoffenheim vs Dortmund
We’re kicking our football predictions off in Germany, where six consecutive Bundesliga victories have seen Dortmund move level on points with league leaders Bayern. Victory this weekend could well see them hit the top as Bayern take on third place Union Berlin in a tough fixture.
Not only are Dortmund in scintillating form, but their opponents Hoffenheim are also hovering just outside the bottom three on goal difference. The hosts are winless in seven in all competitions, including five successive defeats. Only Schalke have won fewer points on home soil, with Hoffenheim likely to struggle once more against a firing Dortmund.
Dortmund to win – 1.77
Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
The latest Madrid derby could have potentially huge consequences. Failing to win could see Real fall as many as 11 points behind Barcelona at the summit. However, Los Blancos will be favourites ahead of the clash. The hosts have lost just once in 16 home games in all competitions this season.
While an improvement in form has seen Atletico climb to fourth, they tend to struggle at the Bernabeu – they have not won a game their since 2016. They have also found goals hard to come by, failing to find the net more than once in each of their previous five. They will do well to compete with the firepower of their rivals.
Real Madrid to win – 1.74
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
Liverpool may finally be starting to find their feet in the league. Back-to-back wins in the Merseyside derby and against top four rivals Newcastle have left them just seven points off the Champions League places. They are favourites in our football predictions to make it three in a row against one of the division’s most out of form teams.
In the last 10 matches, only three teams have collected fewer points than Crystal Palace and no side has scored fewer goals. The Eagles are without a win in eight games in 2023, losing four and drawing four. It’s tough to see Patrick Vieira turning things around in time to get a result against Liverpool.
Liverpool to win – 1.70
Bologna vs Inter Milan
Inter have really shifted into gear since the turn of the year and find themselves chasing down the league leaders Napoli. The visitors have lost just once in 10 Serie A matches and will be favourites to continue that fine form on the road against Bologna.
Bologna have also been in good form, winning three of their previous four, but they will likely come unstuck this weekend in our football predictions.
