European Football Weekend Acca

Now that the final international break of the year is done and dusted, the race for title glory in European football’s top leagues takes centre stage once again.

In England, Liverpool lead the way having secured a five-point advantage over Premier League champions Manchester City at the top of the table.

But it is out-of-sorts City and Tottenham — along with inconsistent Brentford — in the spotlight in our expert tipster’s latest acca ahead of what promises to be an action-packed weekend.

La Liga leaders Barcelona and in-form Serie A sides Atalanta and Fiorentina are also among his picks.

Assuming all five results come in, a small stake with a boost of 8% will return a tidy sum in the build-up to the festive season.

But before reading on to discover why our man in the know has picked the results he has, be sure to check out our full range of football odds.

Brentford to beat Everton – 2.95

Brentford head to Goodison Park knowing that inconsistency is threatening to ruin their season. The Bees have won five, drawn one and lost five, with boss Thomas Frank still trying to work out how to secure back-to-back league victories for the first time this term. Having beaten Bournemouth 3-2 before the international break, our tipster believes Frank can finally crack it with success at Everton. The Toffees are enduring a miserable campaign and it would be no surprise to see them slip to a sixth defeat on Saturday.

Manchester City to draw with Tottenham – 4.50

While a draw is unlikely to satisfy either side, it would at least stop the rot for both City and Spurs. The hosts have lost four on the spin in all competitions, leaving Pep Guardiola dealing with the worst run of his managerial career. Tottenham, meanwhile, have slipped to back-to-back defeats and question marks remain as Ange Postecoglou battles to turn his side into genuine contenders.

Atalanta to beat Parma – 1.62

Atalanta head into the weekend hot on the heels of Serie A leaders Napoli. With just a point separating the sides at the top of the table, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have won their last six league games and appear unlikely to come unstuck at Parma. The hosts have picked up just two wins so far this term and are nervously looking over their shoulders. With only a three-point buffer between them and the drop zone, a fifth defeat of the season on Saturday would leave Fabio Pecchia under intense pressure to turn things around.

Barcelona to beat Celta Vigo – 1.69

Having lost 1-0 at Real Sociedad before the international break, Barcelona will be determined to return to winning ways against Celta Vigo. And when you consider that Barca have won 11 of their 13 league games so far, it would take an extremely brave punter to bet against the La Liga leaders on Saturday. The hosts have recorded five victories but the smart money appears to be on them suffering a seventh league defeat when Hansi Flick’s men come to town.

Fiorentina to beat Como – 2.38

Like Atalanta, Fiorentina are on fire as they chase table-topping Napoli. They beat Verona 3-1 last time out and a visit to lowly Como is unlikely to trip them up. Raffaele Palladino’s side have won six in a row in the league and will be confident of making it seven on Sunday. In contrast, Cesc Fabregas has seen his team pick up just two points from their last five Serie A outings. They sit a point clear of the bottom three but could slip into the drop zone if results go against them this weekend.
