European Accumulator: Matchday 5 Preview

It’s time for the penultimate round of Europa League and Conference League fixtures as some of the biggest teams in Europe look to cement their spot in the knockout stage of the competitions. We’ve previewed this week’s fixtures and picked out some potential winners based on the latest football odds.

Whether you choose to play with Bet777.be or any other online sportsbook, you can enjoy a range of live betting markets on all the biggest European matches.

AEK vs Brighton

It’s a must-win game in the Europa League to kick things off. Victory for Brighton would secure their spot in the next round with a game to spare, in turn ending AEK’s chances. A win for the teams from Athens would see them draw level with Brighton in second, with all to play for on matchday 6.

AEK might have been 3-2 winners in the reverse fixture on the south coast of England, but we’re fully expecting a Brighton victory here. The Seagulls have found their feet in recent weeks and are now unbeaten in six matches. They have won back-to-back away games against Ajax and Nottingham Forest and will be confident in continuing this run in Athens.

Brighton to win – 1.87

BK Hacken vs Bayer Leverkusen

There aren’t many teams in Europe that could deal with Leverkusen right now. Xabi Alonso’s side currently sit top of the Bundesliga and their Europa League group having won 13 matches in all competitions. They have scored an incredible 41 goals during that streak, and given BK Hacken haven’t kept a clean sheet in eight matches, we can’t see them causing the visitors too many issues.

Bayer Leverkusen to win – 1.34

Servette FC vs AS Roma

A point in Geneva would be enough to secure AS Roma’s progression, but they will be eyeing up top spot with a view to an easier draw in the next round. Jose Mourinho’s side were 4-0 victors in the reverse fixture in October and they come into this game off the back of a 3-1 win over Udinese.

The last time these two met was in fact the last time Servette lost a game. However, the level of competition they have faced since pales in comparison to what we will see from Roma. It will be a tough outing for the Swiss side.

AS Roma to win – 1.79

Aston Villa vs Legia Warsaw

Our final pick comes from the Conference League where a point is enough to seal qualification for Aston Villa. However, this is a battle between first and second, with the winner likely taking top spot. Legia were 3-2 winners in the reverse fixture, but we expect a different outcome in Birmingham.

Aston Villa are in remarkable form having won six of their last seven games, including an impressive 2-1 win away at Tottenham last weekend. Unai Emery’s side have relied on outscoring opposition. They have not kept a clean sheet in eight matches, and if they are to win against Legia, it will likely take at least two goals to do so.

Aston Villa to win and both teams to score – 2.75
