Bruno Fernandes to score for Manchester United vs Lyon @ 2.63
United had to make do with a 2-2 draw in Lyon, with Andre Onana gifting a stoppage-time equaliser to young starlet Rayan Cherki. That goal means we are in for a cracking second leg at Old Trafford and both sides will fancy their chances of progressing. Home advantage could play a major role for Ruben Amorim’s side and the last time Fernandes played at home in the Europa League, he scored a hat-trick to seal a 4-1 win over Real Sociedad. The Red Devils skipper rarely lets his side down and we expect him to strike a decisive blow when Lyon visit.
Athletic Bilbao to beat Rangers and over 2.5 goals in the match @ 2.00
Rangers showed real courage to hold Athletic to a 0-0 draw at Ibrox, as they spent the majority of the match with 10 men following Robin Propper’s 13th-minute red card. But while they can take heart from that performance, we just cannot see how Barry Ferguson’s side can leave Bilbao with anything but a defeat to their name. Rangers drew 2-2 with Aberdeen on the weekend, while Athletic beat Rayo Vallecano 3-1 in a convincing display. Expect the Spanish outfit to cruise to victory and they themselves should score over 2.5 goals. However, we are playing it safe with our tip.
Bodo/Glimt to beat Lazio and both teams to score @ 11.00
This is without question our riskiest tip of the lot, by a distance in fact. However, Bodo/Glimt have proven throughout this Europa League campaign that they are a team not to be underestimated. A 2-0 first-leg win in Norway has set this tie up perfectly, with the onus on Lazio – who finished top of the League Phase – to come out all guns blazing. This could play into the visiting team’s hands, as they can catch the Serie A side on the counter with their fluid attack, spearheaded by the competition’s joint-top scorer Kasper Hogh (seven goals). But Bodo/Glimt have not kept an away clean sheet since Matchday 2, hence why we are including the BTTS market.
Eintracht Frankfurt to beat Tottenham @ 2.34
Spurs’ entire season rests on the Europa League. Ange Postecoglou’s side lost their 17th Premier League match of the season on the weekend, suffering a 4-2 defeat at Wolves. And while the North Londoners performed quite well in last week’s 1-1 first-leg draw, Eintracht usually turn it up a notch in front of their fans. The Bundesliga side have won their last two home matches without conceding after last weekend’s 3-0 success vs Heidenheim. And Spurs’ previous away match in Europe saw them lose 1-0 to AZ Alkmaar in a woeful display.
