Wednesday evening sees the latest edition of the Europa League final and it is an all-Premier League affair.
Tottenham and Manchester United will lock horns for one of world football’s most prestigious trophies, with a place in next season’s Champions League also up for grabs.

Despite their reputations in the world of football, this final will be contested by two of the worst teams in the Premier League.
Spurs’ 2-0 loss at Aston Villa last Friday means they currently sit 17th with 21 defeats to their name, while United are 16th with only 39 points on the board following a 1-0 loss at Chelsea.
Neither team has claimed a victory in their last five Premier League encounters, but in Europe, things have been very different.
United are unbeaten in the Europa League and thrashed Athletic Bilbao 7-1 on aggregate in the semis.
Spurs overcame a good Eintracht Frankfurt side in the quarters and then beat Norwegian minnows Bodo/Glimt 5-1 over two legs to reach this stage.
As such, this match is incredibly hard to call. But although key midfielders James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall are set to miss out, Ange Postecoglou’s side can take some comfort from their recent record vs United.
The North London outfit have won all three encounters this season, the most recent a 1-0 success at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on February 16.
A fourth consecutive win over the Red Devils in 2024-25 would finally deliver a piece of silverware for Spurs – and may even keep Postecoglou in a job!

Solanke boasts similar numbers to Fernandes in Europe, registering five goals and four assists in 12 matches. The Spurs striker found the back of the net in each of Spurs’ last three matches in the Europa League and has already scored three times against United in 2024-25.

In terms of yellow cards in the Europa League this season, United are well ahead of Spurs. The Red Devils have collected 30 in 14 matches, while the North London side have only picked up 20. As such, this disciplinary-themed selection looks a pretty safe bet to us.
