It seems bizarre that Forest are in a skirmish for the Europa League semi-finals when they are battling relegation in the Premier League.
But Vitor Pereira’s side gave themselves a boost in that regard on the weekend, drawing 1-1 with Aston Villa and staying clear of the drop zone as a result.
However, the outcome did extend a seven-game run across all competitions in which Forest have failed to win at home.
The 4-0 victory over Ferencvaros on January 29 was the last time the Tricky Trees tasted victory at the City Ground.
It is a streak which will give Porto serious confidence ahead of this crucial second leg.
Unlike Forest, the Portuguese side returned to winning ways on the weekend, beating Estoril Praia 3-1 away from home.
And Porto claimed the victory in each of the last three matches on the road, a run which includes the 2-1 win at Stuttgart in the last 16.
In fact, Porto have lost just once on their travels in the Europa League this season, though that was actually at Forest in the League Phase.
