AS Roma to beat Nice @ 2.23
With a quality manager in Gian Piero Gasperini and an array of talented players, Italian giants Roma must surely be targeting success in this competition, particularly as it offers a route to the Champions League. The Giallorossi beat Lazio 1-0 in the Rome derby last Sunday, making it three wins from four in Serie A. Nice have already suffered three defeats in Ligue 1, the most recent a 4-1 hammering at Brest. So the odds on Roma here potentially represent fantastic value, and their selection could be a great starting point for your midweek Europa League bet.
Feyenoord to beat Braga @ 2.95
After starting the new Portuguese campaign with back-to-back wins, Braga are now four matches without a victory in the Primeira Liga, suffering three defeats and mustering one draw. In contrast, Eredivisie table-toppers Feyenoord are yet to lose in the league this season, although their last European away match was certainly one to forget. The team from Rotterdam lost 5-2 to Fenerbahce in the Champions League Qualifiers, a result which secured their spot in this competition. But four wins from five since then means Feyenoord are in a great position to begin their Europa League campaign in style
Real Betis vs Nottingham Forest: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.67
Nottingham Forest’s return to the European stage sees them take on a formidable opponent in Real Betis on Matchday 1. And this should be a very entertaining game, especially now that the attack-minded Ange Postecoglou is in charge of the Premier League side. Furthermore, Betis games this season have been goal-filled affairs, with both teams finding the back of the net in the past four matches featuring the side from Seville. Betis’ last two home matches saw them lose 2-1 to Athletic Bilbao and then beat Real Sociedad 2-1, while Forest drew 1-1 at Burnley on the weekend. We expect goals in this one!
Porto to beat Red Bull Salzburg @ 2.06
Porto have started like a train in Portugal this season, with six wins from six league matches, 15 goals scored and just one conceded. This record will be of huge concern to hosts Red Bull Salzburg, who are perhaps not the force they were a few years ago. The Austrian outfit are winless in their previous three league matches, suffering a 2-0 home loss vs Sturm Graz on the weekend. If Porto manage to score early in Salzburg, a comfortable victory is firmly on the cards, given the recent form of both teams.
