Belgium vs Azerbaijan Preview
Domenico Tedesco’s side currently sit top of Group F with 17 points after going unbeaten in their opening seven Euro 2024 qualifiers. They have won five of these games, dropping points only in draws against Austria and Sweden. A victory over Azerbaijan will secure their first-place qualification, and they will be strong favourites to get the job done in Brussels.
Azerbaijan have had a disappointing Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. The only high point was a 2-0 win in Estonia. Other than that, they have lost four and drawn one, scoring just four goals in their six outings. They have also struggled against stronger nations on the road. They were beaten 4-1 in Austria and hammered 5-0 in Sweden.
Belgium’s home form isn’t exactly perfect. Both of their draws have come at home, with the only win a 5-0 drubbing of Estonia. None of that matters now, of course. They have the chance to secure the top spot in front of a home crowd.
It was a narrow 1-0 victroy for Belgium when these two sides last met in a game that was much closer than people envisioned. Yannick Carrasco scored the only goal in that victory, with Azerbaijan mounting the pressure on the Red Devils in the second half. However, with Azerbaijan now unable to qualify, we can’t see them keeping Belgium at bay for too long.
Latest Euro 2024 Qualifiers Odds
Belgium are huge 1.06 favourites to claim the three points at home, with Azerbaijan 26.00 underdogs and a draw priced at 12.00.
Euro 2024: Belgium vs Azerbaijan Betting Tips
Belgium win to nil
Azerbaijan have failed to score in four of their six outings and they will struggle to find the net against a Belgium side that has conceded just four in seven. Expect a comfortable win for the home side here.
Romelu Lukaku to score first
Lukaku is the top scorer across the Euro 2024 qualifying groups with 10 goals in in seven games. His career has been rejuvenated since returning to Italy, with former manager Jose Mourinho once again getting the best out of him. He has been in fine form for club and country and will be the favourite to break the deadlock in this one.
