Darts World Matchplay Quarter-Final Acca

It is quarter-final time in the PDC World Matchplay!

The action in Blackpool so far has been enthralling (to say the least) and Belgian No1 Dimitri van den Bergh is still in the hunt for the title.

With the quarter-finals beginning this evening, we have taken a look at the odds and provided our betting tips for all four matches.

Bet777 is the place to be for betting on darts and the World Matchplay, as we bring the best sporting action to your living room.

Luke Humphries vs Dimitri van den Bergh, over 18.5 180s @ 2.00

*Odds are subject to change

Unfortunately, former winner Van den Bergh faces an uphill battle to stay in the tournament, as he comes up against the world No1 and reigning world champion.

Humphries impressively saw off Stephen Bunting in the second round and his form over the last 12 months or so makes him arguably the most formidable opponent in darts right now, hence why he is priced at 1.19 to win.

Van den Bergh is a huge outsider at 4.15 but while he may not be able to match Humphries in legs, we reckon he can get near to him in the scoring department, with both players capable of hammering the trebles.

As such, we fancy there to be 180s aplenty. Van Den Bergh hit six in his 11-5 demolition of Jonny Clayton.

Ross Smith to beat James Wade @ 1.48

Wade saw off defending champion Nathan Aspinall to reach the quarter-finals but this will probably be a step too far.

Smith beat world No4 Gerwyn Price in the second round, demonstrating his unbelievable scoring power to turn the game on its head.

And it is his ability to hit 180s that should see him over the line, as while Wade is one of the world’s best finishers, he is not a player who regularly hits maximums.

Smith’s scoring power should see him have far more chances at a double and if his finishing is anywhere close to its best, he could stroll to victory.

Michael van Gerwen vs Andrew Gilding, under 26.5 legs @ 1.85

Van Gerwen has looked back to his terrifying best at this World Matchplay.

The Green Machine defeated teenage sensation Luke Littler in the first round and then breezed past Joe Cullen to set up a quarter-final with Gilding.

Gilding has been steady and effective at the tournament, however, we cannot see him putting serial Van Gerwen under too much pressure and expect him to lose by a considerable margin.

The quarter-finals are the best of 31 legs.

Michael Smith to beat Rob Cross @ 1.95

This all-English encounter is set to be an absolute cracker.

Both Smith and Cross have impressed on their way to the quarter-finals and it is hard to separate them.

But we fancy Smith to eventually emerge victorious, despite the fact former winner Cross is the favourite at 1.75.

There could be a lot of 180s in this one, too. Over 16.5 180s hit is 1.90.
