Croky Cup 2025/26: Anderlecht vs Gent Preview

The final Croky Cup quarter-final for 2025-26 sees Anderlecht and Gent face off in an intriguing contest tomorrow evening.

Anderlecht were beaten finalists last year, losing 2-1 to fierce rivals Club Brugge. That result means it is closing in on 20 years since the Purple & White lifted the trophy, their most recent success coming way back in 2008.

Can Besnik Hasi’s side take another step towards ending the long wait for this piece of silverware? Well, Gent are certainly not a team to be taken lightly, despite some struggles in the Jupiler Pro League this season.

So, here is our full preview for Anderlecht vs Gent in the Croky Cup, complete with the latest football odds to help you craft a bet online.

Anderlecht vs Gent Preview

The winter break arguably came at a good time for Anderlecht, as their previous fixture saw them lose 2-1 at home to Charleroi.

It is now just one win in four Pro League matches for Hasi’s men, a run which started with a devastating 4-0 loss at Westerlo.

Anderlecht were also far from convincing in the last 16 of this competition, eventually recording a 3-1 victory at Genk after extra-time.

Adriano Bertaccini’s 82nd-minute equaliser could prove to be a pivotal moment in the season come May, with Thorgan Hazard also among the scorers that day.

Like Anderlecht, Gent only mustered one win in four matches prior to the winter break, although that run did include trips to both Union Saint-Gilloise and Club Brugge – the top two in the Pro League.

In the last 16, Gent got the better of Cercle Brugge, eventually claiming a 3-1 away victory despite having less of the ball and fewer shots on goal.

These two sides came face-to-face back in September, with Anderlecht recording a 1-0 triumph on home soil thanks to a strike from Mario Stroeykens.

Anderlecht have won five of the last six editions of this fixture, and earned a 1-0 success at Gent last April.

Anderlecht vs Gent Betting Tips

Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.71

The BTTS market looks a great source of value ahead of kick-off. Both teams found the back of the net in four of Anderlecht’s previous five games across all competitions, while Gent have scored at least one goal in five of the last six matches.

Fast Bet Builder: Anderlecht to win and Adriano Bertaccini to score anytime @ 2.90

This looks like a great way to boost the odds on a home win for Anderlecht. Bertraccini looks to have nailed down the No9 position in the XI, and was on target in the previous round vs Genk.
