Champions League Semi-Finals – First Leg Betting Tips

The Champions League semi-finals are nearly upon us, with Arsenal taking on Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona doing battle with Inter Milan.

Below, we have taken a look at each of the first legs and provided some sports betting tips, complete with up-to-date football odds.

Let’s begin…

Champions League Odds

*All odds are subject to change

Arsenal are at 2.12 to claim a first-leg win at the Emirates, while a PSG triumph is priced at 3.45. The draw is at odds of 3.47.

Barcelona are huge favourites to defeat Inter on home soil at a price of 1.62, with the Italian side at 4.90. The draw here is 4.10.

Arsenal vs Paris Saint-Germain – Best Bets

Leandro Trossard to have over 1.5 shots on target @ 5.50

With Thomas Partey suspended for the first leg, Mikel Arteta will likely turn to Leandro Trossard as a false nine option, with Mikel Merino dropping back into midfield alongside Declan Rice. Trossard has been a rich source of goals for Arsenal in recent matches, the Belgian forward following up a brace at Ipswich with a strike in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last Wednesday. The ex-Brighton ace is certainly not afraid to shoot with either foot and we can see him testing the palms of PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on multiple occasions.

Bet Builder: Both teams to score, over 9.5 corners in the match @ 3.00

A simple Bet Builder option here, but the odds are pretty good. While Arsenal were able to keep out Real Madrid in their last home Champions League match, it is a tall order for the Gunners to repeat that feat against arguably Europe’s best team in PSG. Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia represent one of the scariest front threes on the planet, with Bradley Barcola a sensational option to have off the bench. In each of these teams’ last European outings, away at Real Madrid and Aston Villa respectively, there were over 9.5 corners and the set-piece is often a key weapon for Arsenal.

Barcelona vs Inter Milan – Best Bets

Barcelona to score over 2.5 goals @ 2.68

Barcelona enter this fixture on the back of a 3-2 extra-time win over fierce rivals Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final. So confidence levels will be high and Hansi Flick’s side have had no issue whatsoever scoring goals this season. In fact, no team in Europe has netted more times across all competitions. And Inter’s usually reliable defence has been well below par in recent matches, with the 1-0 defeat to Roma on the weekend meaning Simone Inzaghi’s men have now lost three matches in a row without scoring. Furthermore, Inter have not kept a clean sheet in nine games, a concerning run ahead of a visit to Catalonia. Even without the injured Robert Lewandowski, Barca’s attack can wreak yet more havoc.

Bet Builder: Barcelona to win, Lamine Yamal to score anytime, Barcelona to have over 4.5 corners @ 5.00

We expect Barca to be on the front foot from the first whistle to the last, so we are tipping them to claim a crucial first-leg win over out-of-sorts Inter and take at least five corners. As for Yamal to score, it is a slightly bolder call than opting for either Ferran Torres or Raphinha. But the teenager is always involved in Barca’s slick attacking play and he has scored four goals in 11 Champions League appearances this season. Yamal also has the knack of turning up in the biggest games, evidenced by his sensational strike for Spain against France in last summer’s Euro 2024 semi-final clash.
